Uniform Question

Does anyone know what that shiny stuff around the neck on the new Nike uniforms is suppose to accomplish? It's starting to annoy me for whatever reason..

It's probably all Nike could get approved in terms of differences to the jerseys, and you know they had to do something.

College and Pro's all have the same crap.

If I'm not mistaken it's something to keep the necklines from stretching out. Butt ugly...especially some of the dark jerseys where they look like neck rolls!

I love it, especially on team's with "bird" names (Cardinals, Eagles, Seahawks, etc.). Reminds me of wings.

With all the funky experiments Seattle has allowed on their uniforms, the other teams should have been spared those dinky stripes on the collars...what is it with the Northwest and its fashion disaster appetite for assorted eye sores lol

I don't like those scribbles, either, but what I like even less is the white "collar" on some of the teams (Buffalo and Denver come to mind). It looks like they painted on a neck roll like LBs and FBs from the 80's used to wear. It's annoying as hell.

I haven't even noticed. Although, I must admit my vision has been off since I first saw the Seahawks glow-in-the-dark jerseys.

They look kind of like a female's tennis shirt collar, Not that there is anything wrong with that.

But since I love me some Eric Dickerson...I am fine with the girl collars.

I think what Gee is talking about is different from the neck roll collar things. There are some shiny scribbles in the from of the neck on most (all?) of the jerseys--separate from the collar that goes around the back of the neck.

It was optional as well and only a handful of teams opted out of it.
