And I don't think any team that loses in a game before the finals to Middle Tennessee State belongs in the tournament....

Your telling me that ASU, or Syracuse would lose to William and Mary, or Middle Tennessee State in a tournament, with their season on the lines? NO WAY... That is why South Alabama and VCU though they have a decent resume, I think there are more deserving teams... IMO... that said, this is just how the process goes....

VCU isn't getting in, IMO. South Alabama is no lock either. They have one signature win, against Mississippi State, which isn't really that impressive. South Alabama has a good RPI, though, which might save them.

Gotta say... Even though the Devils lost.... Thursday turned out to be a VERY good day for ASU...

But with other comparable bubble teams losing today, many to inferior opponents, Devil fans have reasons to be optinmistic...

Teams that were on the Bubble Thursday morning that are now completely out:
UAB
Florida
Houston
Maryland
Ole Miss
Dayton

Teams that are more than likely on the outside looking in but could still make it:
UMASS
Villinova

Teams that are squarely on the bubble that have no more games:
Baylor
ASU
Oregon

Teams squarely on the bubble that with a loss with knock them out:
St. Joes
Ohio St.
Virgina Tech

Meaning as of right now.. assuming UofA is already in... ASU IMO, is in the best position of almost everyone on that list....

I think of these bubble teams, Villinova, ASU, St. Joes, and either Ohio St. (if they win), or if they lose Oregon will fill the final spot....

Utah beats the Blobos. At this point it would take a freaking miracle to knock ASU and UA out.

Damn Mao.. you really got my hopes up... When you posted I was watching the Utah/ New Mexico game on Gamecast, and I thought maybe you had it live and I was just on delay....

ARGH... NM has come back and tied it.. they are going to Overtime.....

I doubt it matters that much. UNM has beaten exactly nobody this year.

While in the End it may not matter.. with all the bubble teams that have lost today.. New Mexico (Who Lunardi has in his tournament BEFORE all these losses) could very well make it over one of the Pac-10 schools...

IMO.. this is actually a VERY big game for the bubble picture... New Mexico wins and they are in...

But right now with :50 seconds to go NM is down 1

cool... Utah beat them by 2....

Yeah I just don't see with a first round loss, how one can make an argument that New Mexico belongs over any of the 7 PAC-10 schools....

So to recap ALL THREE won the Cardinal, The Utes, and the Bulldogs... could not have gone better!

I honestly am starting to believe even though all three bubble teams lost... that the PAC-10 may just get their 7..

The big winners from tonight as well..

Illinois State and VCU.. not that they are in yet.. but they were absolutly OUT before tonight....IMO

Man I feel a lot better about it than I did a few hours ago. Things seem to be breaking our way.

In a normal year both schools would be planning how to fit 2k bored people into McKale and WFA for a first round NIT game. The field is that bad.

Miami v. VT, who cares? ASU wants Ohio St to lose right?

VT still has a chance to get in exsp. if they win this game. Therefore, go Canes. We need St. Joseph, Ohio State, Temple and Texas A&M, all to loose. Florida State just lost so that helps!

Will the big upsets actually be upsets this year? Even the top seeds look like they can be taken with the wrong matchup.

ASU and UA won't be visiting the Final Four, but you have to like their chances to win a game or two because of the guard play. Both teams will be undone by a lack of depth at whatever point they lose.

Today was not that great for ASU. I think, out of those 4, Texas A&M is now in for sure. I still think ASU makes it though. My biggest worry is Illinois actually winning the Big 10 and getting the automatic bid.

You speak for me except I don't think ASU is in. Hope I'm wrong.

I have been optimistic since the beginning...

But now.. I am starting to have doubts...

If te committee puts it into perspective.. and uses a human side, I think ASU is in..

If they are indeed the human version of of the BCS relying solely on numbers.. than I think they are out....

A very nerve wrecking time for ASU fans right now... hopefully it will all be worth it in the end....
