Okay, can we please get to the bottom of this??

That article refers back to this one from February 21st, where Urban states:
Darren Urban said:
Leinart’s contract – with cap numbers of $2.6 million and $4 million – is very manageable over the next two seasons. There’s no reason to dump him for that reason.

The near-universal consensus and basis for many of the threads on this board recently is that Leinart will be due a bonus or salary escalator or something that will require the Cardinals to pay him around $15M in 2010. Urban's blog post is the only place i've seen that notion contradicted - but since it's on the official team website, it would certainly seem credible. If true, it makes all the difference in the world when it comes to being able to realistically keep Leinart in the fold long enough to determine whether he could be the QB of the future.

Escalator doesnt kick in till 2011 season. Thsu he has two more season of manageable cap. Thats what Urban Said and thats what was said on NFL network the other day.

He has 2 escalators, he could still in theory have one in 2010 if Warner were to go down one of the first few weeks and Leinart played the rest of the season.

This new info on the escalators blows away my argument that we would not keep both Warner and Leinart. When factoring in the first year up-front loading of Warner's cash money, it makes sense for Matt Leinart to stay here for now, keep quiet and stay ready.

That's good for us.

I have argued quite a bit that it made sense on many levels for the Cardinals to keep both of them. Is there to be a witch-hunt for the "real" fans that were putting out incredibly erroneous information to further their argument?

I'm poking the hornet's nest a little here on purpose because I want you guys to think about what it would have been like if a "Warner fan" had continually put out bad information(intentional or not) in their efforts to argue their point?

No one's going to make a peep about this in that way though even though we all know there are plenty of rabid Leinart fans out there who are ready to start him over the superior QB at this time. So, we can't really say they had the team's best interest in mind.
