How in the hell do you leave McKnight open on a 3rd and Goal? This team has rolled over and died. This is over and it may get ugly

Whoosh. (the huge exhale that accompanies a total collapse) Many will blame the loss on various ASU players and schemes. I think it just showed the current talent difference between the teams.

Yeah, I was there and it was just clear we still have a ways to go. Their lines just manhandled ours. I was most surprised that we totally could not run the ball worth a damn. That enabled them to just pin their ears back and attack our weakness -- pass protection.

I expected at least a game in doubt until the final minutes. Really disappointing. Takes quite a bit of shine off the season, unfortunately. Although, we all would've taken 9-2 at this point in a heartbeat back in August.

Why, why, why, WHY do we always lose the big one?

We win everything else, but when we play the big game with everything on the line, we gag.

Frustrating.

No blame game to play. We got owned. Not as bad as the time Rodney Peete came to town, but it felt about as bad. UGH.

FWIW: USC with a healthy Booty is better than their current ranking - heck, they'd probably be undefeated.

9-2 is unexpected and I'll take it. Something positive to build on - IF Erickson sticks around long enough.

With this crazy year - UCLA could upset USC...Oregon State or UCLA could beat Oregon with Brady Leaf as QB. Would leave ASU on top of the division if we beat the Cats...

Regardless, 10-2 or 9-3 and a decent Bowl game is far above the expectations anyone had for this year's squad.

That's pretty accurate.

Take a snapshot of what you saw last night, and compare it to what Dennis Erickson's team speed looks like in 2 years. The difference will be huge.

USC just manhandled both lines. The defense was bouncing off ball carrriers. And, Booty finally had a good game... partly because he wasn't touched 99% of the time.

- Judy once again held on to the ball too long in key 3rd down situations. She paid for it.

- Chris McGaha is an absolute stud. He'll be playing on Sunday's. With McGaha, Williams, Jones, and Kimbrough... ASU is loaded.

- ASU immediate needs: Tougher SOB's on the O-Line, quicker/more physical LB's, punter, depth/size on the D line.

Still having a great year. I never thought this group had it in them to do what they're doing. Remarkable job by the coaching staff.

That was a crappy call on the lateral/forward pass fumble/incomplete. It looked to me like it should have been 6 for ASU--and it ended up being a 14 point swing.

I couldn't believe that call either. It also looked like Carpenter got a helmet to helmet hit that wasn't called either at a crucial point. Regardless, it would have taken some real luck to stick in this one. The offensive line should embarassed, they were dominated by simple stunts.

Well, that was embarrassing. However, if UCLA and ASU win out, ASU could still go to the Rose Bowl :p

If ASU beats UA, there's a good chance they'd get invited to the Fiesta. Not a bad first season, Ill take 10-2 anytime. Its a good building block going into Rudy C's senior campaign.

No chance of this happening. Not this year with this UCLA team. They might get by Oregon without Dennis Dixon, because Leaf sucks, but they will not beat USC. After last year, USC will bury them this time.

You want to talk bad calls? How about the "unsportsmanlike conduct" call on USC when ASU was 3rd and long. SC got a sack and the guy did a flex pose for maybe half a second and they flagged him for that, yet Rudy throws his helmet across the field and gets NO penalty. Ultimately that penalty led to an ASU touchdown. Only way devils could have won was with more help from the referees. Pathetic.

We did not choke. Read the posts by aj, Brian, Sly fly and others, many of whom were there in person to watch it. We played hard and were overmatched against a bigger, faster and deeper team.

9-2 is stunning. Losing to UA this year would be a real bummer, though. Either way, 9-3 or 10-2, Erickson will make us more talented, faster and deep, very quickly. But how long will Dennis stay?

They showed Matt and Fitz hanging out on the sidelines.

On Matts radio show today he called the ASU fans sitting behind him idiots ( he literally said idiots).. He said they started chanting "we want Warner".. He said, "dont they realize Kurt will be playing all season this year?"..

:D
