USC coaches believe Steve Sarkisian was not sober during ASU game

AZ Central threw out a list of 10 candidates, some are pipe dreams even for USC.

Some notable names:
Chip Kelly
Brian Kelly
Kevin Sumlin
Bob Stoops

Kevin Sumlin is my guess. There are rumors up here that Chip may want to come back to the Ducks, but only if he is fired.

Anyone who understands tax law knows those sort of donations don't mean much. Its a large tax deduction that helps you make more money in bonuses. In addition the payments are spread out and SC has the money to write a signing bonus for 10x that if they truly wanted Graham.

Don't be naive, if USC wants Graham (and I think they'll set their sights higher like a Bob Stoops or Mark Richt) a measly $500k won't mean much to those donors. Hell Sean Miller wrote a similar check to Arizona and nearly took the Maryland job a few months later.

I don't think either Arizona coach is a good fit for the SC job and when all is said and done all parties will realize that. Just that they'll be in play. It's an opportunity to win national titles, live on the beach, and recruit multiple NFL players without much effort. None of those things happen Tucson or Tempe.

My comment about the stadium contribution wasn't from the perspective of USC donors. Its a sign of his commitment to stay here. With his wife's family living in the Phoenix area and other factors, I think the naive position is for one to add TG's name to the list of those interested in this job, something you did with the Texas job as well as I recall.

Texas wasn't interested in Graham. What's naive to think he or any coach not at a perennial power wouldn't be interested in multimillion dollar raises and a much easier path to winning championships which programs like SC and Texas havr. That doesn't mean he'd take those jobs just that he'd take a look. Of course I doubt SC would even make a run at him. He's probably not a good fit and they're probably going to target someone with a better resume.

Is Rodriguez in play for USC? Probably and his name would get brought up same as Graham's during internal debate. But at the end of the day both parties there would realize especially after Michigan that's a worse fit than Graham would be.

There's no doubt in my mind that if Texas became available, and the school called, Graham would listen and give it careful consideration. The 500k he contributed to the rebuilding budget for the stadium would be a drop in the bucket compared to the massive raise he'd receive in Austin.

Neither school in Arizona is a destination job, but rather, they are stepping stones to bigger programs if the success is there.

If you saw the 30 for 30 last night on USC, LenDale White said I'm probably the only one with the guts to say this but Pete jumped ship as fast as he could when he figured out we were going down.

Definitely a USC slanted show(essentially everyone involved was a USC grad including Keyshawn) but they did somewhat address the sanctions. Essentially no denial, admitted some things were done. White said Bush was a good kid and if people are offering you money at that age and you don't have any, you're going to take it. Another guy said all he had to do was wait about 10 seconds and he was going to be rich but he took the money,

Can't even begin to see the comparison. If the Eagles and Kelly part ways the NFL will not be investigating Eagles for recruiting violations with an anvil hanging over their heads. I tend to believe the NCAA hammered USC hard (comparatively) because Petey bolted and left the program in the lurch. If the point was made that Kelly jumped from Oregon because of sanctions, that would seem to make more sense.

TMZ story out now that not only have several recruits decommitted, but that parents of several current players, including starters, are saying their sons might transfer after the season due to this. One parent said my sons HS team was more disciplined than USC is, the coaches lied to us.

Apparently JuJu Smith sat out practice earlier in the week while debating if he was going to stay or transfer and Adoree Jackson the CB is also rumored to be unhappy and considering leaving.

That said, I seriously doubt they have lots of transfers because those kids are all going to have to sit a year and if you're a soph like Smith or Jackson, why sit a year when you're almost NFL eligible?
