The play may have been one of those plays where the inbounder is suppose to get the ball back and actually shoot the three. Thus it would have made sense for Barbosa to inbound.

Not enough time... 1.3 sec is not time to get the ball back. you inbound to a shooter who has to shoot. I think we had more time in Chicago, around 5 sec. Chicago got the ball back but missed a hurried 3 pointer by Gorden.

Maybe it wasn't enough time. I think it was and they thought it was the only way to get a clear look.

I was wondering about that too. I suspect the play must have been designed for Barbosa, because why else have the shortest player on the floor inbound? Overall, I thought D'Antoni coached a good game, particularly in the second half, but that decision was questionable.
