5-22 for Stephon Marbury and 3-11 for Penny Hardaway. It's going to be difficult to beat a good team when your starting backcourt shoots under 25%.

Well, let's hope Portland can take care of the Rockets tonight. That zone defense by Utah stymied the Suns offense in the second half.

That is the formula

Marbury is the only guy on this team right now that can carry the team.

Stoudemire may get there someday...but not quite yet.

Free throws, free throws, free throws. When are they gonna have practice.

It's not looking good for our playoff pic...... but Houston is down by 6 at the half at Portland.

I hate the F****ng Jazz.

They travel, they grab, hold, and push. If any fouls are are called on the they cry like a bunch of f****ng babies.

I am a Suns fan but I try to watch objectively. I find it hard to not get upset. The Jazz:evil: get away with more crap than I can believe.

The worst part is the Suns let them get away with it. I wish Steph had committed a flagrant foul, at least he should get his moneys worth.

I am done now, sorry for the rant.

No feel free to rant

I would rather suffer through a decade of Laker Championships than to see the Jazz even SNIFF a championship.

Their style of basketball is just god awful. Same goes for the Knicks.

I just looked at the box score and it confirmed my thinking.

The Suns were 13 - 23 from the throw away line.

The Jazz were 29 - 33 from the free throw line.

When in the H*** are they gonna practice???????? Probably will wait until after the season which looks like it's approaching quicker than we want.

Our Center rotation sucks!

The reason. The centers supposedly worse then ours always seem to have a near career games.

Remember last season. Ewing stunk it in the magic suits. Then goes for like 25 and 15 against us. Man every center that sucks does alright against us. The Dream could do his dream shake in his whee chair and have our guys thinking where did he go. Greg O dominated the middle. Camping in the lane or not. He had his way to an extent. I could list a lot more centers but I can't be bothered. I'm going to play guitar.

I'm pissed. the games we're supposed come out and show heart we lose. All the time! some of our players don't know how to adjust their games when things aren't going their way.

The Suns need to draft a big man (6'11'' +) who has some moderate speed and can defend the middle. He doesnt have to be a good offensive player... just someone who can fill up the middle, and has some sort of athleticism.

Remember how many of you guys bashed me for saying that the Jazz have a better center rotation than the Suns and that Greg Ostertag still was better than anything we got at the 5.

I disagree. That would be nice, but the Suns centers are not that bad defensively. Ostertag went wild because he was taking easy shots all night long because the Suns perimeter players were allowing too much penetration. Also Amare Stoudemire kept losing track of him when Karl Malone had the ball.

I think the Suns need a center who can consistently hit a mid-range jump shot. The Phoenix offense would be unstoppable with a center who could shoot like Drobniak in Seattle or Miller in Indiana. I'm not saying they're going to realistically find a center like that, but it's what they need most. The Utah Jazz packed in the defense all night long, Marbury did not shoot well, and the Suns offense struggled. I don't think Ostertag came out of the paint more than a few times on either end of the court the whole game.

Another thing that has been concerning the is that since Penny Hardaway started playing increased minutes the Phoenix Suns offense has really slowed down. When he takes it up the court it takes half the shot clock just to get into any sort of offense. I really think Marbury and Joe Johnson should be pushing the ball like they were before Hardaway's return.

Where was Tom Gugliotta last night? I know hindsight is 20/20, but he is one of the Suns better players against the zone and against defenses that play the middle.

I heard some people at the game say Googs had strained his back in practice before the game. The suns had no interior defense. The Jazz just passed the ball for an easy layup...every play! The suns couldn't shoot, and couldn't go on on of their huge runs late in the game because the suns didn't play defense.

luckily, houston lost and we can try to get this lead again on friday. golden st. should give houston problems and then they have sacramento after that. this is definitely the time we can make a move. by the way, since i've been watching the suns, it seems to me like utah, houston and the lakers are the team that gives them all type of hell. i can understand the lakers and houston with their size but utah, i dont know. maybe they just fundamental the suns too death, but it is sickening.

Please.

If I had a choice of centers from Big Jake, Little Jake, Scott Williams and Greg Ostertag, Ostertag would be #4 on the list.

By the way, a lot of people on this board refuse to think that our team is able to lose without the refs making it so. When we get four or five consecutive turnovers, and convert on maybe one of them in the 4th, we don't deserve to win. We got outplayed.

Give me a break. Get off your high horse. Yes, we played terribly in the 4th quarter down the stretch. But the officiating WAS terrible, on both sides. Ignore it if you want, but it does make a difference.

It's true we were outplayed but the refs in the early going called every little thing on the Suns & nothing against the Jazz. I think they tried to make up for it later by some stupid calls against the Jazz. It still ended up with Utah shooting 29 free throws against our 23 throw-away opportuinties.

I personally would have left JAKE or jake in the Utah game until they fouled out. In that case, perhaps we could all scream at the officials for the crap they let Ostertag get away with.

Yes, we were outplayed, but I can & will scream at the officials all I want.:D :D

A Jake Voskhul reference! Got to love that.

Ah yes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Here we are 12 years later, bitching about a whole new set of players. :)
