MESA! :thud:
That's GREAT O!! I'm not a fan of the drum "phone booth" in the pic... I was surprised to hear they got the gig. I think in 2004 when Van Halen went out with Sam they had Shinedown open up!!
Yep, they did. Shinedown did a great job.

VAN HALEN DEBUT AT #2 IN USA:
A David Lee Roth fronted Van Halen have once again had world domination plans foiled by a long standing current #1 record. Back in 1984, the band's album of the same name just missed out on reaching number one due to the phenomenal success of Michael Jackson's Thriller opus (going on to be the #1 selling album of all-time).
Now in 2012, the band's new album A Different Kind Of Truth has been held out at #1 by the continuing stellar run by Adele with her album 21. Adele posted a 102% jump on previous weeks sales due to advance-Grammy publicity and sold another 241,000 units.
Van Halen will instead debut at #2, with 187,333 units reported sold - a little short of their label Interscope's original hopes (200-250k), but in line with revised expectations of 180k+. Nevertheless, it's the best result for a classic rock band in quite a while and something for the band to be proud of.

Have to admit, the new VH album sounds like old VH, which is a good thing.

After a few listens, the album is pretty damn good. It's just the song Tattoo is easily the worst, IMO.

Reunited rockers Van Halen have stunned fans by scrapping 30 dates on their summer tour without explanation.

The band has pulled the plug on all shows scheduled after a gig in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 26 including stops in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Cleveland, Ohio; and Salt Lake City, Utah.

Reports suggest the bandmates aren't getting along, with one insider telling RollingStone.com Eddie Van Halen, his son Wolfgang and brother Alex and singer David Lee Roth "hate each other," adding, "The band is arguing like mad. They are fighting."

Reports of poor ticket sales have been dismissed by local promoters who insist the shows are selling well with many completely sold out or almost sold out.

DLR posted a video explaining that all is well, they're just taking a short break, and then they're going to extend the tour. They want to revamp the show a little bit and make sure they're fresh for the next 12 mos

All is good in VH-land
