positive thoughts everyone

yes this is a bad injury but maybe someone will surprise like boehm etc.

Just stinks the stupid tie and the closs losses the cards have had this year.

Please no sb favorite supporters next year.

The cards always play better as the underdog

In years past we would be beaming with joy to be where we are right now. Yes, we must think we are the old Cardinals (we sort of look like them, smell like them and our records shows like them) but the best dang old Cardinal team we have seen in awhile. That is how I am treating this season, just like '98 and this Cardinal team has just as good as a chance because we have a stud running back (forget the fact we do not have their special teams unit and Chris Jacke or Eric Metcalf). I know it's sugar free Kool Aid but enjoy the Splenda

Fork meet Toast. What screwed up year. Time resurrect the Pottsville threads.
I'll never understand this Pottsville curse thing especially given the fact that this franchise won a world championship 22 AFTER the whole Pottsville thing. So, no, this team is/was never cursed. It's only until recently that the team has been managed by someone who wants to win. Before that, Daddy Bids had no interest in putting together a championship team. That's why this team has a history of failure, not some silly curse. As for this season, it happens. Frankly I'd rather be out of it now, try to keep people healthy, and see what the youngsters can do and regroup in the off season for next year. Maybe this is what this team needs. I'd venture a guess a few egos are taking a beating this season.

This will provide an interesting scenario that many spoke about when DJ was drafted:

- Maybe we should put DJ at LT (his natural position) and Veldheer at RT.

I dont care who plays LT/RT, so long as its an upgrade, but I always felt DJ LT/Veldheer RT made more sense.

DJ is a fast, smooth athlete whos been playing LT all his life. He was obviously good enough at LT in college to be drafted in the 1st round.

Veldheer seems better equipped for the power run RT spot anyways.

So maybe long term (next year) itll be a permanent switch. We're forced to find out now.
I was one who thought DJ would play LT and Veldheer RT this season. I would make the switch also and let DJ play LT after the bye week but we don't see the practices everyday.

DJ has the feet and athleticism to play LT to go along with prototypical size. I'd like to see it but obviously he doesn't have the mental and technique aspects of the position down yet.

Wha?? Why so down Rugby?

We will see how Wetzel plays out - Watford is not doing so well, but we have the bye, maybe he had a bad game or maybe we go with Toner in two weeks. Other than that - we have seen worse lineups in the past (slated starters, not the end result after injuries):

2015, 13-3 record
LT Jared Veldheer
LG Mike Iupati
C Lyle Sendlein
RG Ted Larsen
RT Bobby Massie

2014, 11-5 record
LT Jared Veldheer
LG Ted Larsen
C Lyle Sendlein
RG Paul Fanaika
RT Bobby Massie

2013, 10-6 record
LT Bradley Sowell
LG Daryn Colledge
C Lyle Sendlein
RG Paul Fanaika
RT Eric Winston

Not even that down.

Just saying this season has not provided the product that I am paying for. Win and Losses are one thing, but I would be nice to sit down on the weekend and watch a good football game. We are 8 games in, and to be generous maybe half the games have been watchable, entertaining games.

As for expectations, mine are that this team is not going to the playoffs, and at this point, if the team can avoid losing 10 or more games that would be an accomplishment.

Arians at presser: LT Jared Veldheer will go on IR with an ankle injury. Also, Earl Watford has high ankle sprain. Looks like Holden & Boehm

#AZCardinals coach Bruce Arians tells reporters LT Jared Veldheer cracked his ankle and is headed to Injured Reserve.

For a guy who was considering retirement pre-season, and the way this season has gone for him injury wise, I have to imagine we've seen JV play his last down in the NFL. :(

That sucks for Veldheer. Second time in as many years he has ended the season on IR.

FYI, the last few games have been more entertaining. I enjoyed the last few weeks of football.

3/5 of our starting offensive linemen are on IR, and they are easily the 3 best offensive linement on the team.

My guess would be:

Wetzel
Boone
Shipley
Boehm
Holden

.............yikes.

Batiste
College
Sendlein
Snyder
Massie

that is getting close to the 2012 offensive line of ineptitude.

Kudos to Veldheer for bouncing back from early struggles at RT to having 2-3 dominant games at RT and then making the seamless transition back to LT for a few more very good games after DJH was placed on the IR. Up until his in jury the last several games were his best in couple of years. We know he took the day off during TC to contemplate retirement and for those of us who know what that's like in other professions, it's a daily back and forth struggle emotionally. And he has handled this with class and professionalism.

Aren't the 3 guys on IR the same 3 that were on IR last year or did Iupati stay healthy last year?

Really need to draft suitable back ups as Humphries & Veldheer seem to be permanent fixtures on the injury report. Need an OT that can play both slots. I would target Jemarco Jones in Round 2.

I just re-watched the end of the game... Did he break his ankle getting in the shower?
He was in for the victory formation, and seemingly walked of normally.
