You can best see what people are talking about at the very end of this clip:

He still didn't lead with an elbow. He was attempting a classic shoulder tackle. Flacco decided to slide too late.

Yeah, I wasn't agreeing or disagreeing with anyone's take on it; just providing the video. I think you're right.

I hate the slide rule... once a QB crosses the line of scrimmage he is a runner...period..

you know what the B stands for in QB?? BACK... just like it does in running BACK

Highly disagree of attempting a 'classic shoulder tackle', there is no technique of football that I am aware which teaches one to go into proper technique a few inches above the turf... if he was going for a standard tackle legal hit, he would have had to hurdle the guy

I kinda agree with the first sentence... he had him lined up and was about to level him and was already moving his head to his own left to keep it out of the equation... Flacco wanted every last inch and this is what happens ... tough poo for him, slide as soon as you see you have a tackler in front of you and you will not get hurt... if Alonzo is fined for this, THAT will be the biggest travesty here

Actually, the terms used to be fullback, halfback, quarterback.

There is an applicable rule IMHO. At the pro level a runner is not down until contact forces him down, except for the give up slide.
