If so Leinarts going to get trampled by thousands of desperate housewives, I recomend he practices wind sprints if he has to go to that thing, he's going to need to run for his purity.

Maybe Condon should have put that in the contract, be a shame to lose millions because some rabid middle aged woman pants'd him tearing his ACL in the process.

What's the deal with the knee brace?

Not sure, I think it might be for looks, prevention, and/or just ritual. Paper said he wore the same one in college. Lets hope it brings the same success.

I don't think knee injuries, are a issue.

Yeah I've been trying to find any evidence of knee surgery on Leinart for a while now and i've found none. To my knowledge he's had shoulder surgery, elbow surgery, and a hernia operation(both Elbow and hernia were why he stayed at USC last year). I've not found anything about his knee.

I'd guess he probably has had knee surgery because why else would he wear such a big brace, but I have no idea when or for what.

Matt's a great interview and you can sure see why so many at USC called him a born leader.

Interesting, I knew he was born crosseyed and had surgery twice to have that taken care of.


Anybody got a link, sounds similar to Garrison Hearst who was born with an intact but not normal ACL. Several NFL teams failed him on their pre draft physicals over that, it started the rumor he had a torn ACL prior to the draft.

He surely is the new "idol" for crosseyed, fat kids, that don't have an ACL.

yep, he wore glasses until just before highschool when he had a 2nd surgery. He said he was constantly teased for being fat and his eyes.

the interesting thing on Matt is after a great HS career he got to USC and by his own admission stunk. THere are tons of quotes out there from Carroll and Chow about how stunned they were when Leinart took the job after Palmer left. The feeling was that Cassel was more talented but that Booty was ultimately going to take the job. Leinart was the most familiar with the offense but they just didn't think his arm was good enough.

Matt admits he didn't really take well to being a backup, he said as soon as Palmer left I sort of took off, my attitude improved because I knew I actually had a chance to play.

I remember all the rumor that first year that if he started slowly they were going with Booty because Chow just loved Booty's talent.

That changed quickly If I remember Chow was begging for Leinart at #3.The guy might not have arm strength, which from interviews of players(some guy from the Jets) he does. He said he threw the balls perfectly at his Jets workout. But the guy knows how to win, he will and has taken many games on his shoulders and won them. Cant wait till Sat.
