alrighty - thought it would be cool to keep track of what you plan on seeing, either in the theater or on dvd/vhs (for those still living in the 20th century).

a flurry of movies have come out and i haven't had the chance to watch them yet - so some of them may be bumped to the dvd rental category.

i'd like to watch the following movies in the theater if time permits (but it never does):

(this list is not prioritized in order)
The Aviator
Alexander
Sideways - probably wait for dvd rental
Polar Express
Surviving Christmas
The Incredibles - probably wait for dvd rental
Blade: Trinity - going on the 29th
Ray - probably wait for dvd rental
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

i think that's all for now.

Going to be watching Spanglish I think, and some others over the break...most likely Aviator the big one.

so what is the last movie that you watched in the theater?

I saw Ocean's 12 just over a week ago and thought it was hilarious.

what's the last movie you watch on dvd?

the last movie that i watched was The Bourne Supremacy. my brother-in-law hadn't seen it yet and so he came over Saturday evening and watched it with him. the Bourne series has been so good so far. i believe there is one more movie in the series - not sure if they've optioned the 4th book for the bigscreen. BIM may know. :D

Can't remember the last watched at a theater. Probably some kid movie.

HOWEVER! My husband borrowed the DVD series "BAND OF BROTHERS" from a friend and it was awesome. It's a Tom Hanks/Spielberg HBO series about Easy Company from WWII. It's VERY good. They have commentary from the soldiers from Easy Co. that are still around. It was quite an experience IMO.

Anyone else see this?

I don't think they have yet, but if it's good they might.

FWIW: There is a prequel involving Hannibal Lector in the works...

they really need to leave that series alone. the original was awesome, then they had to go back and re-make it with tony. now this? stupid!

I totally agree. Red Dragon (the movie) was unnecessary. I prefer Michael Mann's Manhunter with William Peterson and Brian Cox. Most people I've asked about it feel the same way.

I LOVE Phantom!!! I got to see it at Gammage when I was a teen. A friend of ours already has tickets for when it comes to town next fall! I got goosebumps when I saw previews for the movie a few weeks ago! The Cine Capri would be an awesome place to see it! Now I'm going to have to go buy my tickets so I can see it there! Thanks for the great idea Shawn!!!!!!!

Well, that was an easy choice of theaters! Cine Capri was THE only one! I figured since I saw posters for it at the Harkins by me, that it'd be showing there, but as of right now, moviefone only shows it playing at Cine Capri for the first week.

FisherKing: I love the wizard of Oz! I hope Hollywood doesn’t get it in their head to remake that too. Its great the way it is. You ever watch it with the sound off while playing Dark Side of the Moon?

CQ: Im glad to hear im not the only one who gets goosebumps when they see a good preview. I work for a Hollywood theater so hopefully, if we pick up Phantom of the Opera, ill be able to see it a day early. If not ill be off to Lowes. I’ve read a few bad reviews for the film but I think ill probably like it.

Other movies I want to see are I Heart the Huckabees, which I have to wait for it to come to DVD since my theater never picked it up and I was too lazy to go somewhere else.

At the Theater im still looking forward to seeing Closer, which we just picked up Friday. I only got a chance to see one scene from that movie but it was the scene where Natalie Portman gives Clive Owen a private show at the strip club and all I have to say is WOW. That was a far cry from Padame Amidala.

I watch it about 1 time a month, my kids all love it, especially my 4 year old.... its one of those movies that just never gets old... I cant wait for the remake of the willy wonka movie, I watched the trailor and it looks interesting. Having 3 kids makes it tough to get a sitter so the wife and I get to about 1 movie a year together, but we do take the kids to Sunday Matinee's at the $3 theatre.... I think Skrek 2 was the last one we saw...?

I totally understand that! We only have 2 kids, but it's still not easy to find a sitter. Before my bro-in-law moved in, hubby and I went to the theater together maybe a couple times a year. Just for the "must see in the theater" movies (LOTR, Star Wars). Otherwise, we just went individually if we really wanted to see something.

Since bro-in-law moved in, we've gone out more than we have in the last few YEARS!

So I guess his moving in did have its rewards....

brother-in-laws, most of the times a source of frustration, but other times they have a useful purpose. :)

i get mine to work on my car all the time since he's a mechanic - only costs me a steak dinner.
