a re-make of the Wizard of Oz would be terrible. i hated the spin-off version they did "The Wiz" - what a joke. i've never watched it with the Dark Side of the Moon playing - although i've been told about it several times.

I think that was when I saw it, when I was a (late) teenager.

Maybe it was more like 94/95, not sure.

Had a friend over last night and we watched I Robot. Pretty good! I was afraid I was going to have freaky robot dreams, but my dreams were nothing about robots!

Been watching "Invader Zim" - have all three seasons released so far.

Invader Zim was a Nickelodeon show - pretty dark comedy for a Kids channel.

Hubby also rented Mona Lisa Smile for me, just haven't watched it yet.

But yeah, I liked I Robot. I wanted to see it in the theater, but we couldn't get a sitter. That was one of those times before bro-in-law moved in when hubby would go to a movie on Friday night then I'd go to one on Saturday night. For some reason, I didn't go to I Robot after he did though.

FisherKing: The dark side of the moon/ Wizard of Oz was less impressive then I thought it would be but I could see the similarities. I completely forgot about the Wiz. I haven’t seen that since I was a kid. I liked it then though so maybe I shouldn’t bitch so much about remakes. Different points of view are cool, I suppose. It was creepy and weird.

Blade 2 was awesome. Watching Blade three was more like watching the first one. Dracula is the bad guy and is about as scary as Deacon Frost was in the first, which isn’t very much. Dracula was a bit of a disappointment but all in all it was good. There was more humor in this one as well which made it better.

Dback_John: Invader Zim is awesome! You ever read Jhonen Vasquez’s comic Johnny the Homicidal Maniac?

CQ: I thought Mona Lisa Smile was excellent. I saw the movie several times. To me it is definitely one worth buying.

Good idea on the viewing thread - I haven't even been to Blockbuster in a few months....

It's been a while since we've been to the movies. Last one we saw was Anchor Man

Maybe this winter we'll catch up on some good flicks

A friend....that would be me. And I didn't have any freaky robot dreams either. Slept on CQ couch & listened to her clock tick & her kids "lullaby" playing over & over. Oh well. Still got some shuteye. IRobot was pretty good flick.

Yesterday, on dvd watched all three Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition movies back-to-back with Chandler Mike. Pretty cool stuff.

Today - went to the theater (AMC - which i absolutely hate) and watched Blade III: Trinity. it was okay.

Not really on topic, but I try to catch Frontline every Tuesday.

Frontline, Nova & Independent Lens. That's the best night on TV.

Today it has been pouring rain here in east Mesa....what a great time to be watching movies in surround sound on the 61" Sony....I started early and watched Swordfish( this is a great movie), King Arthur(not a really good movie) then pulled out the Godfather 1(always like that). Got 24 on DVD for tomorrow and will watch Friday Night Lights at 9:40 tonight at the 2 dollar theater(my boys want to see it). Saw Flight of the Phoenix, Blade Trinity, Christmas with the Kranks(that one sucked), National Treasure, the Incredibles, at the theater and watched That thing you Do on Cinemax( I love that film) and also The Italian Job...which I also love. Charlize Theron is hot...that about covers my holiday viewing...at least the ones that I can tell you about. :p
