There was a recent puff piece about Nkemdiche & he really didn't play much last season.

He also had some character issues in college.

If you are looking for supremely gifted
receiver with a low football IQ who will tease you 3 games a year with spectacular catches, then run the wrong route and drop the easiest throw you've ever seen...Floyd is your man.

Right but Lindley was a rookie, Skelton wasn't. That's why Whiz was so mad at him he'd been failing to spot Floyd lining up wrong all year.

True.

But when you are playing a football game that ends 7-6 because your rookie QB cannot complete a single pass, I think that is the point where as a coach you are not putting your team in a position to win because of your own ego.

It was a bush league move by Whiz, and it cost him his job, as it should. Never saw a more cow dung job of coaching and being an arrogant schmuck in all my time watching the Cardinals........and that is saying something.

I remember expecting a star with Floyd. He didn't deliver. We only got inconsistency.

I'd call him a bust regardless of his draft class peers.

If a 5 year starter is a bust than 90% of the NFL are busts.

He didn't make it to a second contract, a big money contract. With us or another team. Again I consider him a bust.

I (and a lot of others) wanted David DeCastro that draft... would have been the much better pick

And, if we had taken DeCastro, we might not have taken Jonathan Cooper.

I think Floyd has a lot of talent. I don't think he has much heart. You could see him crumble under the pressure of his contract year, which IMO is probably the real reason he got that dui.

I'm not going to trash the guy, it's too bad it didn't work out here. Time to move on

I do love the irony of BEERZ talking about Michael Floyd. :)

I don't think you can call Floyd a bust however you can certainly call him a disappointment. He never lived up to his draft status and never really got better which is where I think most people have a problem with him. He started in the league at a certain level and flat lined it from there. Never improved at his position. Apparently Floyd came out of college at his ceiling.

Actually, the first 4-5 games of 2015, when he was recovering from his dislocated fingers he played 9 snaps in one game, and only about half the snaps in a few others. From game 6 through the end of the season, he played the best ball of his career - more yards per game and a much higher yards per catch than Fitz. Based on that, i was expecting him to have a great contract year in 2016. So much for that idea! But until he crashed and burned in 2016, he did seem to be on a positive career arc for a while there.
