A couple thoughts...

1-Vikings had to make a move as this is the last year they can ride AP. They have a really good roster, are opening a new stadium, and can't afford to throw away a season.

2-In terms of mortgaging their future, please. The Redskins gave up 3 first round picks and made the payoffs twice in 4 years. Vikings have a good roster, and can afford to give up a pick or two.

3-If Wentz costs 2 firsts, and Alex smith is two 2nds, why is a 1sy and 4th too much for Bradford? Seems like it was market price.

4-Bradford is better than shaun Hill. those who haven't watched Hill recently would not recognize him from the player he was the last time he started football games. I don't know how much the upgrade is, but there definitely is one.
Wentz didn't cost 2 number 1's. They swapped #1 picks this year and gave them their #1 next year, along with other lower round picks. Plus, Wentz gives them a potential QBOF and everyone knows what Bradford is. I'm not an Alex Smith at all but I'd give up 2 2nd's for him every day over a #1 for Bradford.

Well, look at their team. Their QB, no matter who is was going to be is suspect, they have little in the running game, no deep threat WR's, no possession WR's, their offensive line is questionable considering Lane Johnson is staring at a 10 game suspension, their secondary is mediocre at best. The only thing they have that is any good is their defensive line and special teams. That and a cup of coffee might bet you 5 wins. On the plus side, I was going to sell my Eagles Vikings tickets after Bridgewater went down but now that Bradford is a Viking, this might be an entertaining game after all.

Oh for sure he still has a ton of work to do but he has cleaned up the Titanic mess that Chip left very well so far.

I dunno, I feel like that is a lot to give up for Bradford. Minny most likely isn't winning the SB with or without Bradford so...

My guess is that TB is going to miss a significant amount of time and may well be finished. If his injury was as horrific as it was made to sound like then perhaps they weighed their options and felt this was the best option. Think about it. There isn't one QB that was cut that is a viable option. IMO they would have been better served trying to get Josh McClown from Cleveland but I don't think Cleveland is completely sold on RGIII but I digress. There really isn't much out there and perhaps they thought re-pairing Bradford with AP might be a plus. Bradford has all the tools but I think he's damaged between the ears at least when it comes to football. But for Minny's GM's sake, he better pan out.

This is my view on the trade. You have the Vikings with a big imagination that they still have a window of opportunity, so they get Bradford which is like an fragile back up and persist to call the crack in the wall a window. On the other side you have a crappy front office called the Philadelphia Eagles (yes it's crappy, look at the last decade even before Chip Kelly, he is just in a long line of stupid) which does a ton of spontaneous moves constantly but which never coincide with any continuity from season to season... you know what, it is not even worth having a viewpoint on these teams trading lol

+1, Shaun Hill is good for a few games at best, he is most definitively, a backup

Love the trade. I'm not a big fan of Bradford going back to college. he is truly overrated. but now the Vikings have something to play for. they paid too high of a price. first round picks will cost you later.

I don't love it for the same reasons as you but it's nice to see someone other than the Cards committing this kind of this craziness.

It's interesting to see how 3 different teams have given up so much in the draft for this guy. I can understand the rams taking him in spite of his injury concerns, but after that he has basically been a bust. Maybe my dislike of OU is clouding my judgement. But I have not been impressed by Bradford at all.

IMO...in the beginning Bradford appeared to be the real deal...then the injuries started happening..... for a while there the rams were not losing because of Bradford, it was the team around him... now the rams are just a legit QB away from being a playoff team.

The Vikings don't need a superstar QB. Bridgewater wasn't that great of a QB. They just need someone to manage the game with AP running the ball and a solid defense. Bradford can do that if he stays healthy. They now have Bradford for 2 years and that will provide insurance if Bridgewater takes longer to recover.

Plus there was no way they wanted to open their the season in their brand new stadium with Shaun Hill as the starter at QB. At least with Bradford there is some hope even though it may be short lived.
