This week, Courier Journal readers can vote for the girls basketball Player of the Year.

Voting is underway for The Courier Journal's girls Player of the Year. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

ZaKiyah Johnson, Sacred Heart basketball​

ZaKiyah Johnson, an LSU commit and Seventh Region Player of the Year, averaged 21.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for the Valkyries, leading them to their fifth straight state title.

Noel Smith, Whitefield Academy basketball​

Sixth Region Player of the Year Noel Smith led Whitefield Academy to its first regional final in school history. Smith averaged 20 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.

Abby Reitzel, Mercy Academy basketball​

Abby Reitzel led the Sixth Region champions in scoring with 15.7 points per game and was a member of the All-Region team.

Keziah Renee', Butler​

Newcomer Keziah Renee' earned All-Region honors and led the Bears in scoring with 16.8 points and seven rebounds per game.

Leah Stinson, Valley​

Leah Stinson led Valley to the Sixth Region semifinals, averaging 17.7 points per game, and was named to the All-Region team.
