The nominees for this week's Courier Journal girls athlete of the week delivered on softball fields.

Voting is underway for The Courier Journal's girls athlete of the week. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

Here are the nominees:

Ryleah Lawrence, Ballard softball​


Freshman Ryleah Lawrence went 7 for 11 and had four RBIs in four games.

Josslyn Woosley, Male softball​


Eighth grader Josslyn Woosley pitched a shutout and struck out seven in Male's season opener against Holy Cross.

Hadley Dierking, Sacred Heart softball​


Junior Hadley Dierking went 4 for 4, including a triple and a home run, in the Valkyries' opener against Waggener. She also had four RBIs and a stolen base.

Kadie Bosemer, North Oldham softball​


Junior Kadie Bosemer didn't allow a hit and struck out nine in the Mustangs' win against Shawnee.

Eva Hidrogo, Portland Christian softball​


Junior Eva Hidrogo went 9 for 9 with 12 RBIs through the first three games for the Eagles.
