Ya'll gotta remember ....anyone getting cut couldn't even make a 3rd string position....and you expect them to start ....no way.
You'd be better of going to your neighbors garbage can and hope to find a freshly cooked ...still hot NY Steak, with some mash potatoes and steamed broccoli.
Every team is building their club from the bottom up....you don't let anyone walk that would have helped ....it's all garbage...and if they got a name they've probably been recently busted by the NFL and facing suspension

Gambo was talking about this on the radio today. I'm pretty sure he said the Browns last year used their #1 waiver wire position to bring in 5 new guys when final cuts occurred. Only one of those five, Tanner Vallejo, remained on their roster for the full 16 games.

Source on the bolded?

I actually don't think there's that much difference; most of the time you're just churning the roster and replacing someone you know is bad with someone who might not be quite as bad. If you're looking to plug roster holes in September because they guys you've coached up for two months aren't worth investing in for another moment? That's bad.
In the Cardinals podcast they said that over the last 6-7 years the number had been between four and seven with an average of 5.

I expect that the number is in the lower end - not because I think that this roster is better than previous worst record squads in the league, but because of the excellent rookie class. That rookie class will make it hard to make cuts.

But there is no doubt that there will be additions. Half the league is looking for a swing OT and/or 4th CB. Some positions are just slim in the overall talent even at back-up positions.

Here are some potential cuts that I think the Cardinals might snag if they are on the waiver wire:

Keion Crossen CB, Patriots

Daylon Mack NT, Ravens

Anthony Zettel DE, Browns

Ryan Bee DT, Redskins

Deadrin Senat NT, Falcons

Ifeadi Odenigbo DT, Vikings

Tre’Quan Smith WR, Saints

I doubt the bold gets cut.

Why would we go for another WR?

I could see a world where the Cards want a better blocking option at TE than what they have seen from Williams, Clay and RSJ.

This. They absolutely need to add another blocking TE. It is a must with this poor OL.

Good thoughts and debate gents.

A blocking TE would be a good get.

I can see a CB as well.

After that I'm not sure we would need much else. Not saying our roster is stacked but as some have posted we'd be changing a D level player with a D level player in most cases.

Edit to add:

Now we may see some churn based on attitude issues or if Keim wants to make a point or example out of a certain player.

That's why I had Potential in there.

Also I think I confused Mack with his teammate Gerald Willis. So you are correct that Mack most likely won't be available.

As for Senat he too would be a somewhat surprising cut. The reason I listed him was due to the depth that the Falcons currently have on the DL. It appears that Deadrin Senat and Ra’Shede Hageman are currently competing for that last spot on the DL.

These situations are not uncommon, that's how we picked up Josh Mauro from the Steelers, and he was solid in the rotation. Some team is overloaded and is going to let a player go - hopefully its at a position we need and we recognize the potential to make the move and claim then, if we haven't made a trade beforehand.

If we end up with 2 players off waivers that stick as solid depth or good ST, we are in a better place.
