Disney/Pixar's WALL• E Revealed
Source: Walt Disney Pictures
January 17, 2007

In a letter to shareholders, Disney's Robert A. Iger has revealed this first photo from Pixar's WALL• E, opening in theaters in June of 2008. The letter stated:

We're excited about Pixar's next animated movie, Ratatouille, which will be released this summer. And I'm pleased to give you an exclusive first look at the title character of their next movie, WALL• E (pictured here), which will be released the following year.

Academy Award®-winning director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) helms the animated film.

Saw the previews when I went for Kungfu Panda. Looks much better than KFP.

It doesn't "look" good, but it's Pixar so I expect it to be awesome.

For most of the movie there is little dialog except silly computer noises. Yet it just worked! How they can get so many emotions out of a bunch of simple Robots just boggles the mind. Those Pixar guys are just amazing! The graphics were AWESOME!

Best Pixar movie since the Incredibles and might be better. Brilliant movie.

That aint saying much considering the Incredibles is well down the list IMHO.

We are going to see this later on tonight we are stoked.

It was very, very average for me. Took my Niece (8 years) and she gave it 3.5 stars out of 5.

Some parts were fantastic and others I was just bored out of my mind.

Although your opinion about the The Incredibles is dead wrong (welcome back btw) you WILL enjoy Wall-E.

It kept my 2 year grand-daughter entertained, which only adds to it's awesomeness!

It was VERY average. Nowhere near on par with most of the other Pixar films. My 13 year old just hated it. My 3 year old lost interest. Wife liked it and I was just meh about it.

Now the 5 minute short film that preceded it was just brillaint! That was funny as hell.

I saw it in digital (I guess they mean HD) and the audience and myself loved it. Although the movie is almost MORE for adults than kids.. It's the sweetest movie I've seen in a long time and the fact that I (a man) even got remotely emotional about robots falling in love says something about the power of this movie. The animation was great, but undoubtedly the most important aspect to this movie was Wall-E's vulnerability and loneliness. You really felt for the li'l trash compactor. Oh and the overweight humans added a great touch of fun. Really helped give the audience something else to enjoy. I recommend this to anyone, best movie I've seen all year? Well second to Cloverfield. :)

Who taught your niece the concept of the half star?

More importantly, how did BIM add the enormous period-thing in the thread title?

She knows, I ask her and my kid after each movie we watch, since I use a half star scale they do as well.

Maybe if Adam Sandler was in it, you'd like it.

Not a big Sandler fan. I refuse to see the stupid looking Zohan in fact.

I liked the movie. It was just average for me. Nowhere near as good as Toy Stories 1 & 2, Monsters Incorporated, & Finding Nemo all of which blow it out of the water. The Incredibles and Ratatouille were better but not by much.

It was about on par with Cars and A Bugs Life IMHO.

I'm taking my two oldest (almost 8 and just 5) to see this tomorrow morning. I'm excited to see this one. The reviews are great. Pixar is as close as it comes to a sure thing in the movie business. We watched Ratatuille again yesterday, and that movie just gets better and better each time I see it. These guys are pure genius.
