Finally saw this last night. While entertaining, it become totally predictable. And wtf was up with all the freaking rats? Gross scene. I was expecting to like this movie more than I did, but it just fell flat.

McAvoy is okay to look at, but yeah he did spit a lot (whoever mentioned that previously). Not a movie I'd watch over and over.

I think it was a great idea that maybe was not fully realized. I actually enjoyed the movie. Thought it was fun and full of action. It also seemed very "origin" in concept. I too liked the narration from the main character. His journey to me was the crux of the entire storyline. I could see a sequel being much better.

Again, to me this is just a fun popcorn movie. If you take that approach you won't be disappointed. If your looking for a heady action thriller...move on.

Agreed. I enjoyed it. Good enough to entertain me once, mostly because of James McAvoy. He was perfectly cast. And it almost didn't happen.

James McAvoy screentested for the lead role in early 2006, but was initially rejected, as the studio wanted a more "conventional" leading man. He was later recalled when the producers decided that his character was more "the runt of the litter." The studio ultimately changed its mind and wanted someone geeky. McAvoy got the part.

He's ended up with a pretty decent career. I never realized how many movies he's been in.

I've probably missed most of them. I thought he was annoying as hell in this one and that wasn't even the worst part of the movie. If it weren't for a bit role near the end of Band of Brothers, I wouldn't think much of him at all.
