Here are stats from NFL.com for our last three games:

McCown vs Tennessee

12/28 for 140 yards, 4 sacks, 1 TD, 1 INT

McCown vs Dallas

16-33 for 161 yards, 3 sacks, 1 TD, 2 INT

Warner vs Seattle

29-48 for 334 yards, 4 sacks, 1 TD, 3 INT

As far as sacks go, McCown is no more elusive than Warner.

McCown hasn't even completed 50% of his passes the last two starts, Warner completed 60% today, and that was without Boldin playing.

Warner's timing seemed off and he was rusty because of the layoff. The INT's are too many, but really the third one was in garbage time, down by 14, when he basically had to force something.

IMO if you look at the numbers, like it or not, Warner does give us the best chance to win.

While I think it is a weak arguement for either QB at this point.. exactly how do you come up with the notion that Kurt gives this team a better chance to win based on those stats? Also I like how you left out the stats for Joshs other 2 starts.

Again the "best chance to win" arguement is laughable on both sides. My point remains.... Warner is not the answer... Josh has not been the answer, but he is the younger guy that can mature into the position. If Warner were any more "mature" he would be in a nursing home! ;)

It just amazes me how the Josh haters make excuses for Warners' bad play today. Warner had some good moments but he had a lot more bad moments. Anyone who thinks he is a better option than McCown is kidding themselves. The only wins this team has had is with McCown at QB. That's as far as this discussion needs to go.

Until Green quits playing musical QB's and OL's, this team is going to look exactly like it looked today. Pick a QB and stick with him Mr. Green. This team needs some continuity.

When Eli was having problems with the Giants last year, did they go back to Warner? No. They kept playing him and it finally started to pay off.

Sometimes patience is a virtue. It's too bad DG doesn't have any.

Honestly I don't have a problem with that

I just got tired of the "we win in spite of Josh" argument. If that were true QB is the only problem with the team and somebody else would have won a game in the past 2 years.

If we start either Navarre or Josh I have no problem with it. We should all agree that there is no point in Warner starting again this year ... NONE

But for some reason I feel Green will give him another shot ... UGH

You don't think completing more passes for more yards gives the team a better chance of winning?

Well to answer

some stuff. Johnson had some drops going to the ground. Should he have made them? Yes. But, those aren't the easiest catches to make and he should have been led on one, for sure. Did catch the TD pass also, so poo poo on that.
The O line did have a good game, just not always when we needed it.
We need to stick with one main RB.
Alexander's run had to have had at least three holds as he bounced down the line to finally get out side to break it. So I'd put a poo poo on it was the D's fault also.
Lastly, Warner flat out didnot have a good game. He missed wide open guys, threw flutters, that could have been first downs or more. The only punch into the end zone was to BJ, the rest of the time, well, he didn't do much with some chances.
I don't have the answers. I like McCown, but, i agree with the poster who said Green has to pick a man and stick with him.
No matter who it is I'll be pulling for him cause that's what Cards fans do.

I have no hope for Josh as a Cardinal for a couple of reasons.

A. He isn't good enough to shine through the muck of our Offense in general

B. I have no faith that he's getting taught much of value except maybe from Warner.

C. I am tired of these discussions in general.

Josh would have to land on a good team, maybe as the backup then play for 3 or 4 weeks till his happy feet calmed down after seeing he actually had time to throw. I don't know it could also freak him out much like shell shock.

After all that you might figure out if he's any good or not, you really never know, all it takes is one guy who gets through to him and he'd probably be an all pro.

His mechanics are messed up under pressure, someone has to show him how a real QB operates in that enviroment and then if he still dosen't get it then yeah he's a dud.

Who really cares though cause it's not going to be here.

Warner should start at least 4 games just to show some on here that the QB dosen't matter all that much behind this line.

Other teams are going to factor that in and take a flyer on Josh, I think some will be shocked what he ends up getting.

I just don't see ANY reason warner should take the field again this season unless both Josh and John are unable too. Give it up it was an experiment that failed miserably Kurt sucks he is DONE! His good football days are behind him now is he just flat out a turnoever machine, and this team does not even have a chance with him. Start Josh or John the rest of the season but for god sakes pick one and see what they have because this roster is gonna be drastically different next season. Green needs to have some freakin patience you never know how much say, Josh could have developed since last season if not for all the mind games and jerking around green has done to him. It seems to be a neverending debate but one thing is clear and that is WARNER SUCKS! deal with it and lets move on. At least all the game Josh starts we have a CHANCE to win can't say the same for Warner.

Warner was garbage yesterday, that's for sure. I'm not even trying to hear who should be starting any more because they're both stinking up the joint. I just want to see DG make a decision and stick with it. Musical qb's has NEVER worked, and it never will. It for sure as hell won't work with a team as bad as ours

I agree. This thread is pretty pointless IMO. Neither Josh nor Kurt are the answer. Start either and some petty crap will start mostly because people eithet love or hate Josh.

As far as the sacks go, those of you that recorded the game watch them. There was one where it was third down and we were in field goal range. Kurt was between the tackles with no hope of getting outside. Instead of throwing it away for a grounding penalty and possible interception Kurt moves to the middle of the field to make it easier for Rackers. Did he do it on purpose? I don't know but if he did that was a great move on his part.

:biglaugh:

:( :bang:

Warner holds the ball too long. I would think a veteran QB would know when he should get rid of it. His passes are late and that's partly what caused the INTs.

Josh, well, he's not the answer either. I doubt seriously he will command any kind of big money after this year and, if he does test the market, I doubt he'll find a starting job anywhere. Remember how when Jake played here all the sportscasters were saying how he'd do well in a good system? I don't hear anybody saying that about Josh. Sure, they say he's a good athlete, but they don't say he's a good QB.
