"That was nothing. That was part of being a leader and big brother," Morris said after the team's 112-104 loss. "Of course it looks bad. Everything I do looks bad."
This seems to be way overdramatized it certainly was not a brawl or fight.
Yahoo describes it better as a "tussle". Looked to me like Markieff was talking to/trying to teach Archie something and Archie was no having any of it, Markieff grabbed him and Archie pushed him away.
By the throat!

“That’s nothing,” Morris told the media. “That’s part of being a leader, being a big brother. Sometimes little brothers and big brothers get into it. That’s what happened, wrong place, wrong time.
“Big brothers shake little brothers up sometimes. It happens,” he added. “No it doesn’t look good but nothing I do looks good. It’s between us. We’re a family, always. That’s my little guy.”
Goodwin likewise downplayed the incident.
“We family. It happens. I love him like a brother, he loves me. That’s all there is to say about it,” Goodwin said.
You are taking things out of context.
Is it football season yet?
Its all a little tiresome. How many incidents is this for him?
I quoted that specific part because he was trying to paint himself as the victim. You can add more of the quote if you want, but if doesn't change the "Why's everybody always pickin' on Kieeeef" aspect.

In case the video does not work, here's what happened after the game

Ugh just another example of how Kieff doesn't get it. If you defend this behavior, then you don't get it either. Ugh
Both players were at fault for arguing but Kief took it to the next level. You can see on the vid that Kieff puts in his mouth guard and other players rush in and then Kieff grabs and pushes Goodwyn. Kieff appears to have anger issues he cant control.
As far as statements from both players, You can tell they were prepared for them by the interim coach. He said the same things in his post game interview.
Or they said similiar things because they are telling simply how it is.
It really doesn't matter who is at fault for the scuffle. It's no coincidence that Markieff is in every sort of bad press this team gets. Sure, this incident could have been Archie's fault but Markieff is the one who escalated things into a physical altercation. Not only did it get physical but it did so in full view of the fans, cameras, and media.
I wasn't for a buyout before but if there are no other teams who will take him off of the books then maybe that's what the Suns need to do. I think he still has enough value that he can be dumped off somewhere for an overally protected 2nd rounder, clearing his salary from the books.
I know there is the poster here who has seats not far from the Suns bench, I can't recall his username but I'm curious if he was at this game and if he could post his take on what happened. I believe he's close enough to hear some of what happens on the bench, based on other postings he's made.
No team is buying out a player that is 26 years old, healthy, and capable of putting up 21/8/5 45% at peak play.
Especially not under the new CBA where players with that kind of talent will make 15M$ per year minimum.
He's an emotional cripple. His off the court behavior negates any sort of positives he brings on the floor. He bad mouths fans, publicly fights with his coach, and gets in fights with his teammates on the bench. That doesn't even bring up the felony charges he's facing. The guy is a headcase. Beasley is a player who was bought out by this Suns regime because of his attitude issues and he didn't come close to Markieff's antics. Markieff might be the better ball player but it's at the expense of having to nurture him like a toddler.
