The Suns' culture is winning alot of games without playing any defense. It's embedded. Deep.

The Suns need a veteran coach with zero previous ties to this organization to hope to change that.

These young guys that are with us right now aren’t from the old/older/Nash era of winning. It’s been a good 5 years now. Half a decade of losing.

I don't think Watson should be kept for tanking purposes. That is one of the only upsides of him being here, he sucks and the Suns will continue to suck while he's coaching them. Like others have said though, we don't want to let the youngsters get damaged by Watson. I don't think they're beyond being fixed at this point but if we kept Watson for this season and next then that is a real possibility in the case of guys like Chriss and Bender.

Naw... things are going good. Watson fits the tank perfectly right now.
I had a fraternity brother who would say outrageous things over and over. And the more we would react, the more he would do it, and laugh.

Until we learned to not take him seriously any more. He lost his credibility. 'Just saying.

No one is getting ruined forever.
Right, not forever. Just until they wind up on another team. And the Suns start (or continue) the tank process with a new roster all over again.

Lose and hope. Lose and hope. Lose and hope. 'Hell of a strategy.

I know what you're saying.
I'm not talking about losing. I'm talking about the basketball culture that's been embedded here since i can remember....circa early 80's when i attended my first game. The Nash years were just one successful chapter in a history of trying to win games without playing any defense.

The day that the Suns change the culture is the day that i stop beating that dead horse.

McD has done a nice job. They've drafted well. Sarver seems to have let go of his grip a bit on basketball things.

Get a real HC in here and focus on stopping the opponent. The rest will fall into place.

I'm question if the Suns FO would know a real head coach much less pay for one. It's

The Suns hire a competent GM but can't get the rest of the equation right by hiring the right head coach.

I wonder if Jeff Van Gundy would take the job.

I'd give Watson 20 games to right the ship unless it's apparent he's lost the team. They need to bring in someone from the outside that install a system.

No reason to give Watson 20 games. The ship is sinking and the fans with it.

Sarver should simply replace Watson with his old Foam Finger. It literally couldn't do worse.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team give up 127 plus for 3 straight with two 40 point losses.

They managed to make 1 stop that you're not giving them credit for. They only gave up 124 on opening night.

That is the most concocted unprovable thing that Watson is "damaging the players". There isn't much harm letting him finish the season out. Plus I don't care if you brought Phil Jackson in about now...they will still lose but maybe the point difference won't be as severe.

This team has been garbage with different coaches in the last seven years. I don't care about the culture this season.

There's losing and then there's losing the Watson way ... he's doing permanent damage to players which can be avoided by sacking him.

The broader club culture thing otoh is something deeper and that's on sarver and McD.

We have a perfect tank going. You don't mess with it...you don't get soft. This next draft is more important than Watson. This is the closest shot we've had to getting that "Big Man" front court player we've been wanting for a very long time. People still cry the blues about losing that coin flip for Kareem. You don't get many opportunities like this.

Player development should come first with this team, not tanking. Period. This isn't tanking, it's being embarrassed and regressing as a franchise. Tanking in October is stupid. Tanking a month or two is fine but taking for 7 months? That's asinine.

We've had opportunities like this for the last 4-5 years and the odds always screw us. We've been in the lottery since 2011. Sure, this class has a lot of bigs but none are proven as the NCAA season hasn't gotten started yet. We don't know who will be there for the draft and if they're truly franchise altering players. It is only a chance to get the #1 pick, there is no guarantee, as Suns fans know all too well. Also lets "tank" an entire season to draft a big when the entire NBA is moving away from bigs, that makes sense. We'll sacrifice all of the pieces we have and let them either be stagnant for a year, regress, or develop bad habits that a new coach may or may not be able to fix, who knows if they'll be salvageable for the Suns anyways.

All the while we'll have Watson singing kumbaya with our youth instead of turning them into NBA quality players while teaching them it's fine to lose by 48 on opening night on your home court. Let's see Booker never take the next step or see him bolt as soon as he can. How about watching Jackson never develop and the same goes for Chriss and Bender, they can all be busts. Whoever we get this next draft will carry us into the future! Until we start off bad again, and decide to "tank" again? When does it end, really?

Yeah why would we want to get rid of Watson now? The west is still loaded and tough.
Because the team is completely unwatchable at this point and that goes against the whole point of a professional sports team.

Ok you have many good points. Not necessarily disagreeing with them either. But there are a lot of realities to digest.

Didn't Watson just sign a three year extension? Is Sarver going to want to eat that?

Didn't Watson just tank the suns last season? On McD's orders? I mean he's following orders on making the suns lose now he supposed to get canned three games in on this season? For losing?

Do you know what coaches are to had right now? Experienced proven coaches? Or is it just "Get anyone...just get Watson gone".

Didn't Booker improve on Watsons watch?
Okay maybe I'm grasping because most haven't improved much...But they are very young and some show flashes. So I don't know there.

I'm not claiming Watson is a great coach and if they dumped him I could care less. But nothing is clear...what is our options and what are we expecting? If the suns lose by twenty instead of forty then fans will get happier?
