..to get Michael Bush. I was STUNNED (and sick) when we didn't pick him in the third. He will not last through the 4th. He would be PERFECT for the system Whiz is trying to implement.

I LOVE Bush!!

We agree entirely here...I like Buster Davis, but I thought the pick there was Bush in a no-brainer. We need to do whatever it takes to trade up in front of Atlanta and get Bush now. I know a lot of you really wanted AP, but Bush is better for what Whiz and crew are putting in place, plus he's bona-fide (oh brother, where art though). He's bona fide!!!

Dude is a stud of the highest order, and if he hadn't broke that leg, he'd be a first rounder and at WORST a second rounder.

If we can't package the rest of our draft and JJ or something and get this guy, I'll be in a bad mood to start off my Sunday...

Yep, yep, yep, and yep!!!!

I was stunned when GB didn't pick him. Atlanta should. It will make my day!

Jackie Battles is a bruiser that appears to be a fit and should still be there in the early fifth round.

Bush = not a powerful runner that'd you think with his size. I don't really think he'd be perfect for us. Possibly a better fit than Edge? Yeah. But Edge >>> him.

Strengths:
Terrific size and bulk...Timed speed is fantastic...Strong and powerful runner...Is tough to bring down and will break tackles...Has excellent balance...Pretty good vision and instincts...Versatile and can play multiple positions...Quite productive.

Weaknesses:
Runs too tall...Limited in the passing game with little experience...Work ethic and conditioning are issues...Not a dominating blocker...Played in an offense that may have padded his stats...May not have a true pro position...Durability is a concern.

Notes:
Classic running back / fullback 'tweener...Redshirted in 2002 due to a knee injury and then missed quite a few games in 2004 with a finger ailment...He's a workout warrior who tested extremely well...The big question is where does he fit at the next level...Needs to be in the right situation but definitely has the physical tools.

Harley - for a guy who's posted so many times, you seem to be pretty naiive about the process.

To single out one player out of 120 whom you absolutely gotta have only to be "stunned" when your team doesn't locate that needle in the proverbial haystack (as the #69 hole no less) is to set yourself up for disappointment.

Bush just had a metal rod inserted in his broken leg. Favorable reports about his prognosis have mostly come out of the Bush camp. If he was considered "medically cleared", don't you think 31 other teams would have jumped on that puppy before we did?

Everyone's got an opinion. Mine is that Bush would be worth the risk somewhere in the 4th or 5th round; the exception being maybe one or two already excellent teams with pretty set rosters who feel they can afford to roll the dice on a medical risk with a terrific upside.

That, unfortunately, ain't us.

I agree with you on this. I think this is a successful college player whos game doesn't translate well to the pro game. I'll pass.

With only two more pick, I really hope we don't take a RB. We need another LB and either a CB or a G.

JMHO.

Whis and Graves have already said that they will be bringing in quite a few undrafted free agents (12-15). My guess is a running back will be included in this group. With only 2 more picks today, they should have plenty of time to line up a good crew of UDFA's.

Off Topic: Thou. Not though. Great movie ;)

Carry on.

Oh, and we didn't get Bush. Damn.

Damn you...I saw it and didn't want to be all anal and correct it. That's what draft day drinking will do to you...and of course you come in and nail me on it.
