Hey Debbie Downer, anything else you want to add to bring people down?

Yeah, I have more to add.

I can't believe that you people have gone gaga over being mediocre. Aren't you folks tired of cheering for the hope of a .500 team? Isn't about time that "we" as fans expect more than that? This is the freakin' Cardinals people... they could blow out New England, then get their collective butts whipped by Chapparal High the next week.

Until the fans expect more, this team will get away with being just what they are. The only game in town. So go on and throw them a parade down Central Avenue for being .500. I expect more bang for my buck. And this "sybil" team hasn't shown me crap yet.

MESA! :thud:
If you choose door #2, you made a bad deal. Tell em what they won Monty.
Door #2 was WAY funnier.

That said, I'm with all the stupids from Card Trader to Mulli.

I'm a little exempt as I'm newer to Card-fandom, but I do know that where we're at right now is VERY special for this team--you all have been waiting a long time to be this excited, and there's no reason to not be excited about it, and enjoy the hell out of it.

IF we don't make the playoffs, then there's no reason to be crazy...do it now! Enjoy it now!

and where's 100% - dude owes me beers next week for the BJ bet earlier in the year! Good times indeed!
Perma-banned. But I'm sure he's reading & will be at the game!

Umm...he owes you beers from a BJ bet? That just sounds....wrong.

Maybe its the years of conditioning --

I am just happy to watch Cardinal games in late November that actually mean something --

I am happy to be more interested in NFC playoff scenarios than the early mailing of my NFL Draft guide service

I am also all too familiar with this team's propensity to play at the level of the competition -- so if a totally geeked crowd helps them get over the hump-- I am all for it.

Yeah, that's what we're doing, chief. We aren't cheering for the hope of a .500 team, we're cheering for the hope of making the playoffs. Guess your hater colored glasses don't allow you to see that 11 weeks into the season we are in the THICK of the playoff hunt.

Keep on hating though, keep bringing down those of us that are excited about the things that might come. Keep talking negative while the rest of us enjoy it and see the things that have changed and are changing.

does him saying what he's saying really bring you down? That's one thing I've never gotten about people slamming those that aren't rah, rah types, who are more realistic or even pessimistic. Why let it effect you if you believe them to be wrong anyway?

Nope, maybe a poor choice of words on my part...but if everyone is excited, why even bother to chime in with the negative? That's one thing I've never understood. Let people be happy...make your negative thread and drown in your misery in there.

Totally get the "going ga-ga for a .500 team" thing... It's a sad testament to being a Cards fan isn't it...

However, in the NCAA equivalent league that is known as the NFC West, .500 is serious cause of celebration. This isn't as if we are 1 & 1, or 3 & 3 for that matter.. We have 6 games left, and given the state of the West and the NFC as a whole, there is a very good chance that 9 wins gets to football in January! Which means, we need to go 4 & 2 the rest of the way. Looking at our schedule (yes, I know we are the Cards and NO game is a sure bet), even the most jaded Cards fan has to see 3 & 3 as the worst case, and 4 & 2 as quite achieveable...

Well, ds512az was basically blasting all us fans. Who knows if he is even a fan as he claims. I don't know how even the most hardened of fans could be 100% darkside at this juncture (but if we lose next week we'll all be there).

of all the winnable home games, the one that scares me the most is the Rams game. I know they're awful, but if they're healthy come the end of the year, they've still got a buttload of offensive talent.

Agreed Cheese... And I would not at all characterize them as "awful"... With Jackson back, they are probably the most dangerous team in the NFC West... Yup, I said it...

not sure how he's 100% darkside at this juncture. I can understand someone not going gaga over a .500 team. He said he's going to go to the next home game like he always does and he'll scream his head off. He's just a fan who wants more and thinks we deserve more after all these years. I've got no problem with that. I mean, River, you just questioned if he was really even a fan? Come on man. Who in their right mind would even be on this message board if they weren't a fan?

We'll let's not go crazy. But they are the best 2-8 team and certainly the 3rd best team in the division. Good thing we have them at home.

And I guess you don't see it as a demeaning or holier-than-thou type of attitude, like those of us that are happy we are in the playoff hunt DON'T actually want more?

Basically what he is saying:

"Well you guys go ahead and be happy, guess you are happy just being average, I won't be happy until we are the best".

Like the rest of us just settle for "ok", but no, not him. Can't you have both? Want more, but be happy where you are at?

Yeah, I agree with you. I've been know to wallow on the darkside myself. I guess it's hard to understand why he's picking this time to lash out at us fans - my god, we finally won a roadie against a decent team in a fairly dominating performance.

Can't you just see it... Our final game of the year, with ALL of the marbles on the table... We win - we're in. We lose, it's nothing but golf and watching January football on the tube yet again...
We beat the Rams already in their stadium and without Jackson, they rolled it up on us pretty good.
On 12/30th, if this game does mean what I think it will mean for us, you can guarantee tee the Lambs will be ready to spank us and ruin our year. And with Jackson healthy - it will be a HUGE challenge for our guys...

Gonna be interesting fellas...

OK I'll ask. How exactly will the fans "expecting more" change what happens on the field in Cardinal land? Specifics please. And what does "expecting more" mean anyway?
