Give it a rest already, there are 7 other kickers who have missed 3 XPA this year and only 10 who are perfect which means 22 kickers have missed this year at least once. Of those 10, three have had only 12, 19 and 20 attempts this year. Cat has had 42 tries along with Gostkowski who has not missed on 42 tries.

And that's one difference between the pats and the cards. If we play them in the SB they have a massive ST advantage. Just because other mediocre teams miss xp doesn't mean that's what he need to expect in AZ. One of those in the playoffs can cost us the ultimate prize. No one not even Arians trusts cat man in the clutch esp from 45 plus. Arians has only let him try one 50+ all year.

He has missed 3 on 42 attempts. Consider them as what they are which is a 32 yard field goal and 39-42 doesn't really seem all that bad at all.

15 of the 22 were less than 40 yards those should be hit every time. He hasn't hit one 50+ yarder all year and his year long is 43. What is so great about a kicker who is below the league average on touchbacks and extra points and doesn't have the boot to knock it home from deep.

I never claimed that he was "great"...

I don't think he is a bad kicker that really needs a thread dedicated to having him replaced though. He is a decent kicker and there are only about a handful of kickers in the league that are truly great. If we have a chance at one of them than sure Cat should be replaced, but that won't happen until at least the off season.

Steelers found Chris Boswell mis year and he has been great. You telling me we can't find someone like that with our front office?

Lol maybe on day 3. Unless you're getting Bailey or Gostkowski you can't be dealing first round picks for kicker.

He's not a regular kicker. He's the most accurate kicker in the history of the NCAA. He can hit from 50 like its a chip shot. He will go to a deep team in round 1 or 2. He's special.

The Raiders too Janokowski in round 1 and 15 years later he's still on the roster and the all time leading scorer in the history of the franchise. I say that worked out well for them.

He's hitting over 90% of his FGAs. He nailed a clutch GW last week.

Some of you need a 24 hour rule before you post.
Yep. Over 90% on fg attempts. He's playing well enough

Let us not forget that he also leads the league in PATs, it's bound to happen on a few. If he consistently starts doing it sure, but overreaction central per the usual here. He's sitting at #12 in the league in FG percentage, I'm not too worried about the PATs at this point.
Good point on leading the league in Pat

Replacing our kicker is no different than everyone wanting to replace Butler. They asked BA about that, about Butler, he just laughed and said he had Butler directional punting to avoid big returns earlier in the year (BA does play safe in some areas, just not on offense).

We fans have no clue what goes on on a football field during a game. None. That's fact.

Boswell is the Steelers 4th FG kicker this season. I don't want to go through another 3 to find an upgrade for Catman.

Cat man is on a hot tin roof right now...and had the 49ers come down and won it on a TD...he'd be on the street today.

Prob is there isn't anyone out there worth a pint...it'll be an offseason move SK will make.

Yes, because there are loads of kickers in the NFL who are making 90%+ of their attempted FGs. [emoji52][emoji52]

he's currently 11th in percentage, which is seemingly helped by the fact that Arians doesn't trust him to kick anything outside 50 yards, where's he's 0-1 on the season.

does anyone realize Cat's longest FG made of the season is 43 yards? That's definitely a partial function for how good this offense is, but I think it's also a function of how little Arians trusts him from long-range (as we saw last week against the Niners).

He's an okay K, IMO. But those hiccups on the extra points at end of games does bug me.

my thought is that BA has an old school approach to kickers...you use them when you have to............... but nobody ever wants their kicker deciding a game.
When you have a good offense, put the ball in their hands and play the percentages

I'm ok with Cat-man - for now.

Butler? He MUST go. He WILL cost us a game eventually if he's kept around. Dude must have one of the slowest times to get his kicks away in the entire league. Not to mention his other foibles.
