We need a RB also or start William Powell the rest of the way and see what we got.

Beanie has the worst skill set I have ever seen out of a 1st round 6'2 230lb RB. We should just label him as a bust and move on.

Without Beanie this team doesn't even come close to sniffing 8-8 last year.

I guess what it ultimately comes down to is Beanie is yet another wasted high pick in the Whiz era.

Out of 6 1st rd picks in that Whis Era PP is really the only saving grace.

I agree it's a pretty pathetic situation and worthy of a good looking into and questioning.

You guys act like it was huge gaping hole he missed. And it's not clear he wold have gotten the 1st down anyway. I agree he should have followed the FB and MAY have gotten the 1st.

Didn't Wells just bounce it ouside last week for a 12 yard TD run? This whole argument is stupid. It's the same as the one complaining about running LSH up the middle in the Atlanta game.

You only start Wi-Po for the rest of the season if you want to guarantee that the Cards finish 4-12.

At least with Beanie we have a chance of going 5-11.

The bottom line from my viewpoint on this discussion is that Shane is right that we need to add another Rb or two to the team in the off season. We rank 31st in rushing.

Agreed. After we get a QB, OT, OG-C, TE, ILB, De-OLB

I agree. I'd like to the Cards look at RB in the 3rd or 4th round. Next year will be Wells's last in Arizona and Williams hasn't shown a thing yet.

Only 6? That's quite an improvement over when would need 18 or 19 new players.

I was one of Wells biggest fans but he really hasn't lived up to his draft status. He gives us some power runs but not much else since he's been hurt. At his size if he could run like Powell we'd have a star RB.

Beanie couldn't even follow his lead blocker on 4th and a foot. Instead went further out to the left into a wall and then slipped into the freaking fetal position curling up like a big wuss. Then later on a blitz a LBer blitzes right up the lane and passes Beanie on his right who runs right past him giving him a free shot at the QB. On replay you could see that on the run a first down would have been had if he just followed the FB was even mentioned by billick when they came back from commercial. Who knows how he didn't see the blitzing LB and chooses to run right by him. Both plays were disgusting. Beanie MAY be just adequate and I stress may. But these two plays yesterday clearly illustrate to me that he will just never be the player we need at the position.

Dam we just have too many holes to fill

I thought you already decided that Powell doesn't have any talent?

Nope good luck finding that quote. I laughed at you when you made a blanket statement stating that he has tons or lots of talent or whatever the words you used were. Again I laughed. You responded with whatever you win. LOL that was the end of it. Never said he doesnt have ANY talent. I personally dont believe he is a true NFL caliber RB. But I would rather use him and try and find out for sure over next 4 weeks then watch our 6'3' 235 lbs bruising stud 1st round RB fall on the turf and curl into the fetal position on a 4th and 6 inches.

Why didn't the fullback, who you say made the 1st down, get the ball??? Why hasn't our FB gotten the ball in any of our short yardage plays????????????

What are you talking about? Nobody here said the FB "got a 1st down" What ws said and as was clear on replay and pointed out by Billlick on the TV was that if Beanie would have just followed his FB the lead blocker on the play into the hole he would have easily made a first down. Instead he cuts further out left where there is NO HOLE and slips and then falls down and rolls up into the fetal position. Are you somehow trying to defend Beanie on the play?

Our problem with the running game is that we have no outside running threat and can't spread the defense. I've thought a speed option at RB has been needed on this team for a long time, or at least the threat of someone breaking it outside. All of our running plays are between the tackles and on short yardage it's hard to convert.

We do have some backs with speed. The problem is still the line. Potter in the draft was noted for coming from a pass happy college but he struggles to run block and our guards are not physical...we have no outside chance to run it when the defense is in the backfield or stringing the play out to the sidelines because our OL can not apply any force forward

If Powell doesn't start here in the next week or two, I might have to back off my preseason prediction of 2000 yds.

I think what he's getting at is that Sherman got far enough downfield to pass the first down marker, and this is something I've always wondered, if the FB is getting that far upfield why not give him the ball in the first place. I'd sure rather see the Tank carrying on 3rd and inches than LSH. But it could be that Sherman has trouble taking handoffs and keeping is balance if he's carrying the football, Joel Mackovica sure did, we just don't know.

One thing about our RBs they do seem to lack vision. In watching the coaches film I've seen them make wrong moves several times. Beanie, Williams, LSH, Powell all of them. Could be a result of not having anywhere to run inside so many times that they immediately start bouncing the play outside.

You remind me of George Castanza who, in giving Jerry advice about lying, said "It's not a lie, if you believe it." I guess you don't think you're lying so long as you believe the crap you type. You're exact post was: "hes got talent" followed by one of your ridiculous emoticons laughing really big, obviously disagreeing with my post wherein I said that he's got talent. Now, apparently after reading several other posters also wanting to see more Powell, you've decided that he should get more playing time even though you don't think he has any talent. It's ok to change your mind, but at least acknowledge it. What, are you running for office or something?

Thanks for posting that. You lose. See ya' around, Castanza.

Do tell how is that not exactly how I say it went down? Please break it down for me? Where did i say he had no talent? and #2 I quoted you as saying he had LOTS of talent which you failed to mention in your trying to call me out :)

LMFAO!

And again in my initial post I stated that "I dont believe he is an NFL caliber RB" But would rather watch him then Beanie. Nice try but as usual for you a sure fire fail!
