We need a FB that will carry his weight, and Hightower will be fine.
As a pass blocker, Terrell Smith has carried his weight in gold. Can't ask for the guy to do more than he's already done for this team.
As for names suggested....
Larry Johnson:
- Strike One: he's a pain in the ass to deal with and is a prototype "Me First" player. He's sulky, moody and fights with coaches on a perpetual basis. When you can't get along with Dick Vermeil, Joe Paterno and Herm Edwards, what's that say about you? Plus, you throw his past legal troubles in to the mix and you've got the recipe for a guy who will wreck a lockerroom morale in a hurry and bring this team the type of press it doesn't need.
- Strike Two: He's got a TON of tread on his tires and has had a rapid one way fall since his 416 carry season.
- Strike 3: He's going to be 30 at the end of next season-- an age where HB with a lot of miles begin to breakdown anyhow. Throw in the fact that Johnson has fallen off the face of the earth each of the last two seasons and is locked down to a ball busting contract you have more ammo.
In conclusion, with Larry Johnson, you have a HB with a poopy attitude and a ton of tread on his tires, who is in the middle of a fat contract. Compare him to a SUV with 180,000 miles on it. The car may look nice but it's hell on gas and is already breaking down in front of your very eyes.. In laymens terms, just say no to this Larry.
Derrick Ward
I wouldn't at all be opposed to see the Cardinals bring Ward in. Yes, he's going to be 29, but unlike Johnson, he's still got relatively fresh legs and doesn't have a lot of wear and tear. I consider him like an 90s car with under 100,000 miles on it that you want to bring in to compliment your new vehicle, as a secondary car. He'd be a nice fit in this offense and being more of a helper back than a true go-to-guy, I doubt he'd break the bank either.
Brandon Jacobs
Consider him the hybrid car that may be out of your price range. Gamble if you must, but explore other options. He'd be a hell of a pickup, but he's not going to be cheap, and I think New York moves mountains to re-sign him.
Willie Parker
He's your next door neighbor's car.. or wife.. Whatever the case, neither are available.
LeSean McCoy
I've seen this kid play since high school, got to scout him extensively and I assure you, if Arizona has the chance to take him, they may want to seriously consider it.
He's got all the trimmings to be a featured, go-to back who would fit like a glove in this offense.
Consider him to be the economy car-- little to no mileage, great on gas and the potential to be yours for a very long time.
