I don't see how we will be able to compete for a championship without McGrady unless in the next couple drafts we luck out and get the best players available at a lower draft pick. Nash would not be the answer. We couldn't even come close with Marbury and even if Stoudamire becomes really good I don't think he'll be able to lead us to a championship with just roleplayers.

It looks like Kobe is going to be off the market so I see McGrady is the only choice unless we want to tank the season so we can get the first pic in the draft next year...

So you are tell that you think that you think tracy mcgrady (the guy that just lead his team to 18 wins) is what this team needs to win a championship?

for heaven sakes lets call the pistons and tell them to trade ben wallace, rip hamilton and billups to the magic for tmac because the only way they can win a championship is with a player who isnt a leader and has never been out of the first round of the playoffs.

since when did the reqs. for winning a champion say you must have a no defense playing, quit when the team needs him most ball hog to win a championship? because if there is no one told the pistons or spurs about it.

I guess I dont understand the philosophy that a single "Superstar" in NEEDED in order to win a championship. I just dont see the addition of Trqacy McGrady as being the one thing that puts us over the top. I think it would be great to acquire him, but its going to take getting him, and a helluvalot better play from the rest of the team to make us contenders.

Well first off Tmac and Amare with 16mill in cap room is better than amare, jj, and shawn with 16 mill in cap room. Second of all, Tmac is a bona-fide all star. Every single year he would be an all star. No and ifs or buts about it. I think it would give the fans something to get excited about. I mean a decade ago the suns were the talk of the town, now I doubt anyone even knows more than 2 or 3 players on the team.

Are there more than two or three players on this team? I thought they traded everyone else.

Well I think Ben Wallace is a bonfide superstar... we can't get defensive allpros for our team through free angency.... Nash and Okafor won't cut it, I'm sure of that....

this is without looking and just on memory, did i miss someone?

right now tmac is an allstar but that doesnt matter what matters is does what he brings to this team make them better then what they were before and what it cost them? personally i dont believe that the things that tmac brings is more valueable then what it costs this team in jj and marion.

The list of players omits Trybanski and Archibald, as well as Koturovic, if you count him.

There are probably others.

JEEZ! its not about NEXT year. JJ can be replaced, if not this year then next. people that can score in the clutch because they are clearly a cut above the rest are not readily available. stop thinking that the suns will never have the ability to sign back talent if tmac signs!

CAP room means nothing if there is nobody worth buying.

that's not true. Even if you assume there is nobody worth signing (I believe that is an incorrect assumption) room under the salary cap is extremely valuable in trades. Do you guys honestly believe that Tracy McGrady is the only good player that will be traded this summer? Also, that Chicago draft pick is a hell of a lot more easier to trade this summer than whoever the sons would have taken with the #7 draft pick.

This is like the first week of the off-season, and already too many people are acting like the summer is over.

Chad Ford is claiming the Bulls could send #7 to Orlando for Mobely if the Houston trade goes through.
We better didn't help Houston's chances of getting McGrady.

Jazz were able to get 3 first rounders just for taking on 2 guys with expiring contracts.

The Suns are still trading away picks for more cap space, so they're evidently more interested in being on the other side of the exchange.

The Jazz also were the only team under the cap really.

And for all we know there might not be a luxury tax next year. It was the luxury tax that forced teams to give up value to more those contracts.
