Except not in the first but we should get a lot of offers to do so in the second round holding the first pick. I have weird vibes about selecting Bosa first but putting that down now to being a Cardinal fan. You take Bosa, because he's by all accounts the best player in the draft and you can never get enough pressure on the opposing QB, which also then helps our secondary by default. Go into the second, take a trade down and then maybe get sufficient OL help and WRs

Absolutely, unless some real gem slips pass day one. That being said there should be two or three gems that slip and there will be plenty of interest in our pick.

You bet, because teams are going to have a whole night to get paranoid about losing out on a guy

I am all for trading down in round 2 especially if they have a bunch of players graded out similarly. That pick should have a lot of offers too.

I am also all for using those multiple 6 and 7 round picks to trade back up in to rounds 4 & 5 too.

When I play the fanspeak draft game I almost never get trade down options for our #1 pick in the draft but I do get a ton of draft offers for our 2nd rd pick.

I'm open to this idea, but I do get a little pause when I think back to 2004, and how that draft was so instrumental in the eventual Super Bowl team. Both Dansby and Dockett were taken at the beginning of their respective rounds.

Of course it all comes down to the offer. If someone's giving up a first rounder next year, of course. If it's two fourth rounders to move back seven spots, no.

Our 2nd round pick will become interesting if the NFL takes NE's first round pick over the Kraft incident. That would make our 2nd round pick a 1st round pick. Not that I think any sanction to NE will come this quickly but if it did, we might get some offers for sure.

getting one helluva offer is what it would take for me to pull the trigger. #1 in round 2 is the path to getting 1st round talent on the cheap for 3-4 years. On the other hand you draft a player who could be infinitely pissed off that he did not go in round 1. ( malcontent )??????

The Patriots aren't gonna be punished this year...and probably won't lose picks over Kraft's off field incident. He'll most get something similar to Irsay...fine and suspension.

Mixed opinion on tradedowns. It sounds nice to get a extra pick or two but knowing the Cards they would screw it up.So right now I tend to say just leave things as they are for now.Every time the FO tries to get fancy and outsmart the rest of the league it backfires. So for now leave it alone and keep those top picks each round.

Trading back in R2 will only get you a possible 4th rounder via the chart. Maybe only good if you can use it to move back up in say the later 2nd from your first in the 3rd, unless someone overpays us.

if we move #33 it needs to be on day 1...use it and some of our later round picks to move back into the first round. we get better talent that way and we get the fifth year option on whoever we pick.
otherwise, stand pat with 33 and pick the best TE or OT who mysteriously fell out of the first round.

My guess is that we are using it (along with some comp picks) to trade up into the late 1st.

There are only about 22 players with a true 1st round grade. I can see us moving up for this years version of Derwin James. Or maybe an OT who falls a bit too far. Or another CB who gets pushed down too far.

Teams have traded future 1st rounders to get the 1st pick of round 2.

That would be stupid, they could get a couple in FA. Despite how crummy the OL was he wasn't hit 1.8 seconds into every snap. Also, Rosen is an average at best QB who holds the ball WAY to long. He's an interception machine and telegraphs his throws.......
