Except not in the first but we should get a lot of offers to do so in the second round holding the first pick. I have weird vibes about selecting Bosa first but putting that down now to being a Cardinal fan. You take Bosa, because he's by all accounts the best player in the draft and you can never get enough pressure on the opposing QB, which also then helps our secondary by default. Go into the second, take a trade down and then maybe get sufficient OL help and WRs
I once thought this might make a great post for me to do. You would think having the ability to study the board overnight would mean the first pick in round 2 would be very valuable. There have been some trade ups. Sadly a study of the NFL.com draft history engine reveals this pick has more often been blown. That doesn’t mean the Cards couldn’t get value, in fact it might argue to trade, but those who study history will see the picks had no special value.

I didn't have a stopwatch timing like ARZCardinals did for every play, did you?
No, you reported that it wasn't 1.8, so I was curious how you were able to come to that conclusion. Fairly, I assumed you had the actual time if you could concretely conclude that it wasn't 1.8 seconds.

Our 2nd round pick will become interesting if the NFL takes NE's first round pick over the Kraft incident. That would make our 2nd round pick a 1st round pick. Not that I think any sanction to NE will come this quickly but if it did, we might get some offers for sure.

is there any past circumstance where a team got punished and a high pick taken away because their owner did something stupid that was not football related? Don't remember that happening to Irsay when he was driving around high as a kite on pain killers with enough in his car to get a small Indy town hooked for year.

I know they took picks away for the cheating scandal but I'd be surprised if they did the same for non-football related... uh... "activities."

I watched every snap of every game last year and there's no way it was 1.8 .Sure he got clobbered a lot but there was plenty of times where had plenty of time and then telegraph his pass for a pick six or sail it high a constantly. Lindley would have looked better with that Oline

There really isn't much to discuss with you on this topic if you think the likes of Mason Rudolph and Ryan Lindley are better than Josh Rosen. At this point, you're just making stuff up about Rosen's game and pulling names out of your ass to compensate for lacking a cogent argument.

It was obvious Rosen did not have the time to throw like most other qb’S. I also think the accumulation of hits over the season affected his internal clock late in the year. Add to that our ******** offense and play calling didn’t help. Arguing about exactly how much time is crazy. Not only was the past regime a detriment to Rosen and his growth it clearly did not help the offensive line either.

That's 2nd round pick is liquid gold.
They can get another teams 1st next year AND other assets ...and that's the move you make...along with taking their 2nd or 3rd round pick.

If they can trade the #1 and get 1 or 2 1st round picks AND assets for this draft YOU TAKE EM'
Cardinals are not in a build now mentality - they have 2-3 years minimum before they're relevant.

Only thing (re trading down) may be Bosa may be too good to pass up

I've pounded the pavement re: need of O lineman - you'll note there is maybe one or two O lineman available on the top 150 free agents that isn't coming off major surgery. It clearly shows that good O lineman don't ever hit free agency....if so it's very rare (like Whitworth LT for the Rams). O line is built through the draft - as Indy did and the line they have is a beast. Luck could do his taxes back there....where as Rosen doesn't have time to say 1 mississippi before he's hit. Cards need to stockpile the draft and go after top tier O line players AND keep them at their natural position....that's the big part the Cards often fail at.

If the #33 pick is overrated (as a talent-magnet), it stands to reason that some other team will overpay to trade for it and, if the price is right, we should do that deal.

Ryan Lindley had a career QB rating with the Cardinals of 50.3, he was that bad. Josh last year had one of 66.7... way to go hyperbole :raccoon:

It's never happened but would you put it past Goodell? Also, this story is going to fade after a while because all Kraft is being charged with would be a misdemeanor and not a felony. However, if he is charged with a felony, the NFL could compel him to sell his team as they did with Richardson or ban him outright as the NBA did with Sterling.
