Anyone who says “we won 11 games, that’s a successful season” is a bit narrow.
It’s successful in a way that no one in the media had us winning double digit games & barely anyone here has us winning that many. To say otherwise is just fictional.

The late season collapses are annoying, trust me, I know. However, it’s a new game. We’re in the playoffs. Everybody is back to 0-0. Let’s root for the team to have a repeat performance of week 4.

We are dragging ourselves further and further away from one of the WORST franchises in SPORTS history (and other sports as well). I think we have made great progress with KK and Michael taking over (that is when things changed for the better).
Fixed that for you.

I don’t get the Jekyll and Hyde thing. When they play well they get kudos when the play poorly they get panned. I mean, that’s just logic.
Perceptions are different. We all watch the same game, and no two fans see it the same way. Same with posts here.

So are you saying one fan is Jekyll and another fan is Hyde? I thought you meant individual fans flip flop (which is the more traditional use of Jekyll and Hyde - applying the description to a single individual). And I was just pointing out that the flip flop is typically directly tied to what transpires on the field, which is wholly normal.

Coaches coach, players make plays.
1. You can have a great game plan, call all the right plays and make all the right decisions and your long snapper hikes one over your punters head and it cost you the game.
2. Then you can have great players and the game plan sucks. The play call sucks. The wasted time out sucks and you lose the game.
3. Then maybe just maybe the players you have just aren’t quite good enough.

This is the quagmire of this team. It’s a bit of all 3. It’s not all Kliff. It’s not all Kyler. It’s not all Vance Joseph.

We have enough talent to compete when we play flawless football, which quite honestly, is very hard to do in close games.
How about in any games? Top 5 in the league in penalties AGAIN. That is unacceptable and indicates a lack of discipline and mental toughness from all areas.

Yes, but when you hire/draft raw, you are doing so knowing that you will have to give more time than normal.

I think the transition from worst team in the NFL, to 5 wins, to 8 wins and then 11 wins and a playoff appearance is significant progress. Most teams suck their first time in the playoffs so for me, a loss isn't that significant. Especially when Kyler has failed to win any playoff game since High School.

I agree with the post but the last sentence is weird. How many playoff games has he played since high school? One in college? I mean it's true but it was one game correct?

The very definition of plateau is not the same as progress. We have progressed all three years in nearly every single way.

I just don't see how someone can fire/start over when we haven't actually plateaued yet.

I personally would like a history like the Steelers, Packers, Patriots, etc. where we are perennial playoff contenders with a chance to win the super bowl every year.

We are dragging ourselves further and further away from one of the WORST franchises in NFL history (and other sports as well). I think we have made great progress with KK and Michael taking over (that is when things changed for the better).

Excellent post.

When you compare totals from the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons, we are undeniably on an upward trajectory, and the pinnacle of the mountain is in sight. It only makes sense to give this group of leaders at least one more year to see if they can get us to the top.

It will be the same Jekyll and Hyde some of us are used to.
You mean people being happy when we win and being pissed when we have an awful end of season collapse? You’re statement implies Jekyll and Hyde isn’t due to how the Cards actually play on the field.

Why that would surprise anyone continues to confuse the hell out of me.

Lol... Borg.

This is why people think we “gang up” on other posters.

Folks... we literally share the same brain on sports. We’ll often text each other at the exact same time the same thing, almost word for word.

It’s never personal or intentional.

Cool Brother #2... OUT!

It's actually not correct cardncubfan. At least not technically.

Kyler won the Big XII Championship game in 2019 vs. a good Texas squad led by Sam Ehlinger. That was more or less a win-or-go-home game, in that OU would not have advanced to the CFP that year if they'd lost to Texas.

Does that qualify as a "clutch" win? It's up to you to decide. For the record, Kyler played well in that match up.

Still, he's not yet won a truly clutch game in the pros. The DAL win was good, but he hasn't gotten a win with something officially on the line, like clinching a playoff birth, or winning the division title. Of course he gets a chance to get this monkey off his back on Monday.

No, I mean the overboard reactions towards players/coaches that have a bad game, even though they didn't have bad games prior.
Or the couple play calls that Kliff gets wrong, ignoring the ones that he gets right.
Or not being able to look at the season as an improvement overall from either initial expectations or our current status.

Or many more I don't have the time/desire to bring up in the middle of a poker tournament...

Yes u are right with the use(wrong) of jekyll and Hyde(people with double personalities) but he probably referring about fans jumping on the bandwagon and then jumping off as soon as the things getting uglier
