Anyone who has followed the Cards since they arrived in the valley knows that they lose many games they should win and win many games they should lose. It's who they are. Don't ask me how, but they will somehow manage to pull off 1 maybe 2 victories in the next 2 games. We've been there, done that, too many times to disagree. It's going to happen again.

this team is the most talentless since 2003 and the schedule gives us no breaks in the next two games. This year is 2006 all over again... opening day mirage win against a previously awful team the prior year, followed up by excruciating losses, an all time laughable collapse (Bears/Giants game) and a follow up no-show versus a completely winless team (Raiders/Vikings). We're Pittsburg's red-headed step-brother and they'll beat us as such and the Ravens... in Baltimore? Depending what the spread is, I'd bet the house we don't cover 15 points in that sure to be shellacking.

and people were saying the above before the Giants game... and looked how that turned out. this cardinals team IS different. they don't even have the miracle win in them and the schedule does us no favors for the next five weeks (save the one home game against the Rams. That's a guaranteed meaningless win once we're 1-6).

So after we win one, you will come on here and say I was right?

The bye talk is funny. I told my family that I guaranteed the Cards would not not lose on my birthday (10/16). But on this thread I did say 1 of the next 2 games.

So after we win one, you will come on here and say I was right?

sure. I'll even be stoked we did because that's an incredibly tough two game swing and it'll give me hope.

will come back and say you were wrong? because that's something that pretty much never happens.

Sometimes that's a little difficult to do. It can be a real pain to locate the actual thread unless you recall something fairly specific. I think we ought to have a sticky for something like this. A thread where a person could say, I really didn't think we had a chance to enter the Luck sweepstakes - it's starting to look like Cheesebeef was right and I was wrong.

I said before the season (I'd have to dig up the thread), before Manning had the setback from his neck surgery and was still thought to be on track for the season, that Luck would end up going to the Colts after Manning re-injured his neck in a game and refuse to play there and facilitate a trade to the Broncos (it's the Stanford way, after all). I'm sticking with that prediction (though it looks like Manning won't even see a game).

I doubt that will happen unless they decide to bring Frank Kush back out of retirement. As for the Colts winning the Luck Lottery, I really didn't expect them to be in the running either (I thought they'd be like us, mediocre) . Going into the season, I thought that KC was hands down the worst team in the league.

Yes I will, because believe it or not, I have been wrong before. Just stating my opinion of how the Cards seem to win games they shouldn't. Just a gut feeling, if wrong, I will readily admit it.

I agree with Cheesebeef that this looks like 2006. 1997 started this way as well. Huge skid after starting 1-2 or something. Maybe a couple junky wins at the very end of the year to blow our draft. That said, many years we do knock off some really good teams even in an lost year. New Orleans last year, Pittsburgh in 2007, GB in 2003. But I don't think we will this year. Not Pittsburgh or Balto at least.

oh, I don't think we'll be in the Lucky sweepstakes. we can't even be the best at losing. we'll end up with the fourth pick and probably take the second rated OT.

Yeah, you didn't say we'd get him - just that we'd be in the neighborhood.

Yeah I was saying this about the Giants too. The Same Old Cardinals would have beat them. So this is something worse. Actually, we might have broken out of that cycle with the playoff teams. And that's not such a bad thing maybe. At least if we're going to suck, we might as well suck consistently. And then when it gets turned around, maybe we can win consistently.

I'll tell you how. I'll be in attendance for the Pitt game. They will win. You can put it on the board. Like they say, there are 3 sure things, death, taxes, and the Cards winning when I'm in Glendale.

Maybe the Cards need to forget about drafting an OT and concentrate instead on free agents. After all in the 3 playoff years '98,'08 and '09 we had free agents playing LT.

First round tackles:

Ernest Dye
LJ Shelton
Leonard Davis
Levi Brown

Not the greatest track record. I wouldn't say this except that the same people who were around when they drafted the last three still populate the front office.

I think we'll find out alot about the teams belief in Whiz against Pitt. First we're coming off a bye week so you hope things get fixed. Second it's his old team, if the players buy in they will bust their humps to win this game for their coach, if they don't, it could be ugly.

We might catch a break with Polamalu he has concussion like symptoms but otherwise they appear to have righted their ship.
