We just turned the ball over, over, over, over and over on the road. Our QBs both played pretty terribly. Our tackles were atrocious.
And we were in the game despite no offense, turnovers galore and everything else.
The Niners are dead meat in the division.
We have beat the Rams already, in their house.
We will beat Seattle at home - I have no doubts about that.
As ugly as that was, it could have and SHOULD have been even worse..a lot worse. Seattle couldn't put it on us like they should have.
The division is ours.
We aren't doing much with it, but we will win it.
Many good points and thoughts.
The biggest thing that concerned me (besides the QB play) was how when the Cards stopped shooting themselves in the foot (turns out they were just putting more bullets in the gun) and looked like they were going to make it a game the Seahawks simply stepped it up and closed the door on us.
Their D forced the FG, their O starting getting 1st downs and chewed up tons of clock. Were the Seahawks playing it kinda of vanilla until they needed to step it up?
The D gets a ton of credit for the 1st 2 1/2 quarters. IIRC it was mid late 3rd quarter when they starting moving the ball on O.
I agree with K9 that Davis and the D should be applauded for their effort and play this week. I also believe the D will continue to improve if our OLB's don't wear out and we avoid injuries in the secondary.
I want to avoid the trap I fell into countless times as a Cards fan pre Whiz. The trap is if we just fix such and such then we will be a contender. What happened was such and such would be fixed for a game or two but another such and such would cause the team to lose. For example right now must of us believe if we had a decent to good QB we would easily win the division. So let's say Hall has an apifiny and starts playing well. Then the trap would be the D reverts to their results from the Falcons and Chargers games.
Special teams is very close to being special. The D has the potential to be good. The O has to do more then stink on ice for us to win the division.
