I hope Hummer was being cute - but the fact is, Webb looked very good, and seemed to get better as he went along - I believe we have a genyoowine keeper here. I would guess probably Robby goes down next, but maybe Good will go - someone has to leave for Curt to come off the DL manana, and unless they discover he has a bad case of nose hair :)D a la "Major League") I'm afraid it won't be Tony.

Most impressive thing about Webb was maturity he demonstrated tonight (er last night) by adjusting when he didn't have his "A" game--still finding ways to hold the Braves down.
Definitely a keeper!

"That kid Webb is very impressive," Cox said. "He and (Derek) Lowe have the best sinkers I've seen in years and years. You know, he could almost literally pitch with one pitch, the way it moves. And he's got a pretty good breaking ball that he didn't throw a lot of because he didn't need to."

Great endorsement

Webb announced that he was nervous in front of the home crowd (a packed "Disco" house), and that's why he threw so many pitches, particularly in the first 2 innings.

That's another good sign for him. He can recognize a problem, and adjust within a game!

RJ, Curt, Elmer, Webb, and BK looks to be a solid starting-5 -- the best we've had during our short history.

Now we need some early scoring and base hits with runners in scoring position to give them support.

I'm pretty impressed with Webb's first two starts. He was pretty much dominant vs the Mets. His second start he was obviously nervous and fighting his control. Yet he still goes seven giving up only one run to a good Braves team. So far he's been a great surprise and he'll help soften the blow of losing the Unit.

Ive been impressed with ALL of our youngsters. I just want to know why Patterson our projected 4th starter is not up here. But i feel confident with our pitching even with BK and the big unit out. We need to keep up the offense.
