This 1 stung a little. It is now a long shot for us to get in as a wild card entry. We'd have to win out, mtl. That ain't happening, realistically.

We left many plays out there on the field, besides the bad calls by the refs. You put it in their hands on the road and this is how it plays out unfortunately. It shows that we are not ready for prime time players (team) yet. We have some glaring weaknesses still.

Among those to be addressed is still the majority of the O-line. It has to take precedent along with a more mobile, strong armed QB. Any young Roethlisbergers flying under the radar in college? Here is one poor mans version. Which might be what we need in Rd. 2-3 area. Some have brought his name up already. Starting next week we need to start to see if any of the youngsters can provide a longer term solution. Four that come to mind are Massie (RT), Minter (ILB) , Watford (RG) and Tony Jefferson (SS). Not saying to start them, but they need to out on the field for a series or two. If Jefferson can cover Cook next week, he needs to see more time.

I can't see getting in at 10 --- 6 , to have a shot , we must run the table to 11---5 and hope that is enough, if we lose any of these final 4 it will be final that we are out .

I don't know at this point. We're going to be picking around 17-22 area.

There are so many need area's again.

LT HAS to take precident, unless a QB that they just can't pass on slips there.
Those two positions have to take priority moving ahead. IF we don't take a QB in the first, an argument could be made for LT or S if Clinton-Dix finds his way to our pick. We still can't cover TE's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we stay competitive against both the Seahawks and 49ers while losing - I would consider it a succes.

10-6 is still a realistic record for this team. If 10 wins doesnt get you into the playoffs, its simply some bad luck. In the Cardinals SB year, New England had 11 wins and didnt get in. It happens

In the NFL, unexpected outcomes happen all the time. Carolina could lose three in a row and it wouldnt shock me. They could also win out and it wouldn't shock me.


To win 10 games in generally non-fluke-y fashion puts the team in good shape going into 2014.

We've already won more games and have played far better than I had thought we would coming into the season. I don't know if we'll get to 9 wins... I guess we should if we our defense continues to hold up - though, any team we face that has a viable TE will make it tough...

If SF loses to Seattle (not unlikely) and we lose to Seattle, if SF loses to Atlanta that Monday night, then 3-1 might work with final win over SF. (Assume we pass up the NFC east teams/win on tiebreaks)

A winning record is one more than the 8-8 ceiling I had for this team. A successful 1st step. We have to start winning division games though, CONSISTENTLY.

If we go 3-1 and one of the wins being the 49ers, I don't see us missing the playoffs. Panthers could lose 2 possibly 3. Lets just see what happens.

i'd definitely consider 9-7 a successful year. First year HC/GM, taking over a team that finished last year 1-11? Yesterday's loss is a killer, but I still kinda think we find a way to win 10 games, out most ever...and miss the playoffs.

This is exactly where I am too. Granted if we pretend its 1988 and lose 5 in a row, it will be hard to remember what part of the season was successful. But this team is way ahead of where I thought it would be.

I consider 8-8 an extremely successful year because that is what I stated in the preseason.

9-7 ? Holy Moly, not in a million billion years did I think this team would see 9-7.
