Sorry this is so late!
This practice was quick moving very energetic and to say the least very spirited! The players were wearing helmets and shoulder pads only, but there was some serious hitting going on. The popping sounds from the pads were very loud, to say the least!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They started, as usual, on the lower field doing punt return practice. The surprise there was Dexter Jackson taking a few. He didnt look good doing either, missing one and bobbling the other. Bryant Johnson and Boldin were the other two and they looked good as usual!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In todays defensive walkthroughs the starting four were:
KVB BRYANT DAVIS WAKEFIELD
Just a bit different from the previous two days which were:
KVB BRYANT WAKEFIELD PACE
I looked really closely at Raynoch Thompson it hasn't been mentioned, but I spoke to Ray the last two years and I must say that you can tell he has added some muscle as well. He is still small, but nowhere near as rail thin as he used to be. Seems to be another player who put in time this off-season!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I watched the WRs for a little bit and I keyed in on Bryant Johnson, for the short time I watched him. The guy can flat out fly and his acceleration is very noticeable! I just hope his hands are reliable. So far I see no indication they won't be.
Larry Foster did not practice and the rest of the WRs looked about the same as usual. SURPRISE With the exception of Marquise Walker he actually looked like he was working hard today and was praised a few times by Sully! Caught everything thrown his way too!

I have been going to camp for 5 years and they did two drills, that for some reason I have personally never seen before. They did a running version of the 7 on 7 drill with only the O-line,QB, and RB, Versus the DL and LBs. It was extremely physical with the defense DOMINATING, to say the least. Emmitt and Marcell couldn't get much room to do anything. Marcell made one nice play cutting back the other direction and I have never seen Marcell cut like this before, it was a surprise to see him change directions so quickly. Maybe he worked on his footwork and footspeed this off season as well?
None of the other RBs stood out during the drill.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The other drill they did was awesome, they lined up one DL against three OL and the whole purpose of the drill was to see what kind of penetration and pressure the defensive player could put on the QB. The most impressive player during this whole drill was one Calvin Pace, he went three times in a row. I cant stress just how good he looked!!!! The first time he put on a massive bull rush on the OT who ended up flat on his back and helpless, it garnered many ooohs and aaahs from the crowd watching. The very next play, the OT tried to hold Pace and lock up his arms. Pace did a pretty move bringing both hands up the center of his chest and pushing outwards knocking both of the OT arms to the side, he then pushed him hard to the right and was at the QB in no time flat. Then finally, on the last snap he made one heckuva spin move going right around the OT and was at the dummy QB before you could blink. I'm sure there are names for these moves, but this guy just seems to be highly polished and very fast! Jim O is right he does look just like Simeon Rice in his stance! Im quite certain that at leat one of these plays were against LJ Shelton as well so its not as if hes doing it just against the Back-ups!
The other guy that REALLY stood out was Wendell Bryant, he was extremely aggresive, consistently splitting the two O-lineman. Marcus Bell looked extremely good too. I cant see how this guy doesnt start at DT come Sept 7th.
This whole exercise was very physical and very fun to watch.
Dennis Johnson stunk it up and was locked up rather easy each time I saw him go. Nobody else really stood out!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During the 11 on 11 Blake was a little sloppy today, but nothing to worry about.
The QB who got the most reps and actually looked decent was Parsons. I was actually surprised to see the number of reps he was getting.
McCown was ok, but nothing special today.
There was nothing worthy of a POD today in the 11 on 11!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They practiced some two minute drill and the first team RB on the field was Marcell Shipp, it seems the coaches think he is the better Receiving option in that situation. Blake was operating out of the shotgun with a 4 WR set. I believe the 4 WRs were Gilmore, Mcaddley, Boldin, and Kasper???? I dunno if Pinnacle can confirm this????
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Duane Starks did not practice again but he was running gassers at the end of practice with the Offense. If he's healthy enough to run gassers why isnt he on the field????
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the funnest practices I have attended in awhile! I hope all of you enjoy the update!!!!
