Sweet Play of the Week. Arizona leading Green Bay 17-0 to start the second half, Cardinals guard Mike Iupati executed a sweet pull block for the David Johnson 14-yard touchdown run that turned the contest into a walkover.

btw, from the NY Times :D

Are the @AZCardinals the best team in the @NFL?

@AroundTheNFL's 4 Takeaways | WK 16

Takeaway #2: Cardinals are the best team in the NFL and have been all year.

Only team since the 2001 Rams and the 2007 Patriots to have 200+ point differential. Historic company. "Ascending to a Special Team of the Decade"

MrYeahbut, Now is not the time to begin worrying. Now is the time to dig in and simply think of nothing else but winning. We need make no excuses, nor any alternate plans, but simply and purely just press on with our team and trust in them and completely support them, and take whatever come of it with class, just like they will, win or lose. Go Cards.

In preparation for NFL Week 17, here are my updated PFF power rankings. This week, the rankings are presented with a player who has performed well in the month of December. All of the statistics and rankings are based only on games played in December.

1. Carolina Panthers
Defensive tackle Kawann Short has five sacks in December, the most for any interior defensive linemen this month.

2. New England Patriots
Defensive end Jabaal Sheard has a run stop percentage of 13.8 percent, which is the best for 4-3 defensive ends. He has eight stops on 58 run snaps.

3. Arizona Cardinals
The wide receiver with the most yards per route run is Michael Floyd, at 3.69. He has 387 yards on 105 routes run.

Newsday

1. Cardinals (13-2) (3): The Cardinals are peaking at the right time, and they’ve still got a shot at the No. 1 seed. Carson Palmer is very much in the conversation for MVP honors, as well as Comeback Player of the Year.

NESN

1. Arizona Cardinals (Last week: 2): The Cardinals had a 31-0 lead on the Packers in the second quarter and put a ton of pressure on Aaron Rodgers. It was one of the most impressive performances by any team this season.

2. New England Patriots (Last week: 3): The Patriots didn’t play well against the Jets, but they’re still the AFC’s best team when as close to fully healthy as possible. Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola should be ready for the playoffs.

Last One. The Crown Jewel...

Seattle Times:

1. Arizona(13-2)
Last week: 2

The Cardinals are the only team in the NFL to have more touchdowns (57) this season than punts (54). For a little perspective, the Houston Texans, a possible playoff team, has 56 more punts than touchdowns this season. Oh, and the Cardinals have won nine straight.

9. Seattle (9-6)
Last week: 5

Quarterback Russell Wilson needs only 173 yards to become the first quarterback in franchise history to pass for 4,000 yards in a season. But one troubling trend: He has been hit 24 times in the last two games.

After Sunday I don't just want to see this team win the Superbowl. I want to see them beat the absolute tar out of the next 4 teams they play. I thought I was living in a fantasy world on Sunday and frankly didn't believe that this team could possibly be as dominant as they were. But reading all these articles and rankings and getting inside the numbers, this team deserves to be remembered as something special, and I hope they get out and make it happen. I want the rest of the NFL to forever regret not giving Arians a shot at head coach. Because he deserves that for what he has done from the day he took over for Pagano to now - it's absolutely legendary.

Screw Newsday, those hacks used to employ John Gambadoro. Nothing from them is valid henceforth!

:sarcasm:

1. Cardinals: A dominating defensive performance, against a playoff team, without Tyrann Matthieu is as impressive as anything they've done on offense this season. Anybody notice David Johnson on Sunday? Another strong performance. Last Week: 2

"sticky" worthy?

Maybe a Hall of Fame Thread, just to have it noted that there was a time where both Peter King and ESPN had the Cardinals as #1 in a Power Ranking poll.

Some where Merrill Hodge is weeping.
