If it's there for the taking, I WANT the NFC West title. Especially since it's the best division in football. I've never been a fan of resting players, unless it's absolutely necessary. It's one thing if we were locked into our seed, but we're not. Come playoff time, I'd still rather play a home game, because regardless of what our home record was this year, historically the Cardinals have played extremely well at home in the playoffs. It's a different animal once the playoffs start.
Agreed. Why not use last week’s W as a springboard to a “playoffs begin now” approach and adopt a no nonsense, business-like mindset? Let’s face it, momentum is real, so why not just play to win? If some guys need to sit out, fine. Otherwise, everyone else plays. To win.

It’s a matter of priority, luxury really, we can, so we should rest key players especially running backs in a 20 game preseason and season, we hope to have 4 more games.
chase had 18 carries, and is beat up, we need Conner as fresh as possible, Ward and eno need reps, CC, AJ, over 30s all of the starters should get a light load. Try to win the game but not priority.

as a disabled veteran I manage my health daily, what I do today effects tomorrow. Sometimes it’s worth it, valued and I go for it, come crawling in sideways in a skid, sometimes I foresee better, more value in tomorrow, so I save my abilities today. I know it’s a personal level, but is also truth.

life is not like a bowl of cherries, it is more like a jar of jalapeños- what you do today, may burn your AZ tomorrow!

Totally agree. If we lose to the Seahawks it won’t be because Edmonds or Conner didn’t play. It will be of to many mistakes.
Eno has shown flashes and Ward seems capable. The one thing that worried me is their blocking, however, there are ways around that too.

I did have a small 'Christmas Miracle' and became aware of how I was too emotionally involved. I took your advice and stayed away from the game day thread and that was the right thing to do, for me at least. I managed to watch the game even keeled. Thanks for the advice!
You know what- I was on the phone with my good friend in Spokane the whole time- a cowboy fan. We talked the whole time as we watched the game together. I almost didn’t want to pick up when he was calling, because I figured he was going to make things worse for me:biglaugh:, but it was him who had to suddenly get off the phone to handle something Dallas fumbled and we kicked a FG to go up 25-14.

AJ Green is a bad AZ - 33 yo 50 catches - 850 yards - 16.5 yard average ! 16.5 imagine if they were on the same page? I mean you think will appreciate a playoff, you bet your bright beak he does. Get er done !
NoteCARDS:
  • Selected by Cincinnati in the first round (4th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft and spent 10 seasons (2011-20) with the Bengals before signing a one-year contract with Arizona on 3/19/21.
  • Seven-time Pro Bowl selection (2011-17) and two-time 2nd-team All-Pro designee (2012-13), Green appeared in 127 games (125 starts) with the Bengals and had 649 receptions for 9,430 yards and 65 TDs. He also has 33 games with 100+ receiving yards and six 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career.
  • Became just the 10th player in NFL history - and the only wide receiver - to begin his career with at least seven consecutive Pro Bowl selections.
  • Since entering the league in 2011, ranks 5th in the NFL in receiving yards, 6th in TD receptions, 8th in receptions, 5th in 100-yard receiving games and 8th in receiving yards per game.
  • Joins new teammate DeAndre Hopkins (6), Julio Jones (7), Mike Evans (7) and Antonio Brown (7) as the only players in the league with at least six seasons of 1,000+ receiving yards dating back to 2011.
  • Has 10 games of 150+ receiving yards in his first 10 seasons in the league. Only nine other players in NFL history, including six Hall of Famers, had at least 10 games of 150+ receiving yards in their first 10 career seasons.
  • Has five career games of 180+ receiving yards. Only Antonio Brown (8) has more such performances over the past 10 seasons.
  • Has ranked in the top-10 in the NFL in receptions twice (2012-13), receiving yards three times (2012-13, 2015), receiving TDs four times (2012-13, 2015, 2017) and receiving yards per game four times (2012-13, 2015-16).
  • Of Green's 65 career TD receptions, 17 covered at least 40 yards and 13 went for 50+ yards. His 13 TD catches of 50+ yards trail only DeSean Jackson (19) for the most in the NFL over the last 10 seasons.

I usually wait until after half time to see how the game is going before I jump on ASFN . That way I have an idea of what the vibe is gonna be lol .

FWIW (which is nothing), ESPN ran a simulation before last week and had both us and Rams winning this past Sunday and losing this upcoming Sunday. Would be very Cardinal-esque if SF somehow had the game in hand vs the Rams and we blew a late lead to the Hawks.

We missed a 20 yarder to win it. 6-6 tie in OT... when jt was still a full 15 minute extra period. An absolutely painful game to watch and stand through in the stadium while nursing a terrible back injury.

Good times, my brother, good times!

I was thinking exactly the same thing. It's the cardinal way. They open the door for us and we slam it shut and say no thank you.

I myself raised my expectations for this season when we were beating everybody, but now I've resigned my thoughts to whatever happens we have exceeded expectations, and it's been a good year.

The hawks have no reason to tank for a draft pick either. This is a pure spoiler game for them.

I am not enthused about Russ, DK, and Lockett on Sunday. Penny for 120 IMO.

Interesting...

"if [A.J. Green] were to have 10 receptions for at least 75 yards on Sunday, he would earn another half-million dollars."

"With two sacks on Sunday, [Golden] would reach 13 on the season and that would trigger another $1 million bonus."

If these guys were to achieve their bonuses, it would certainly bode well for the Cards' chances to win. But... i wonder whether an incentive like this will have Golden thinking more about getting a sack on every play, rather than staying home to contain Penny?

A "few more weeks" on Alford? What is specifically wrong with him?

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Alford reverting to form. I hate being right about certain things. Can we go back to early in the season when I was so wrong and we were winning more?

Cool - 10 catches 75 yards is a lot for green, but so is 2 sacks for golden, but they already hit some great bonus money. The 16.5 average for green is just mind blowing. And right after somebody posted he had no heart could games back, he started busting players in the mouth after he caught the ball, all lanky long stridery and crap.
