Yep Wilson has officially backslid after a promising second year. He sucks.

I had big hopes for Marco this year. He has all the physical tools you want in a CB.

He's just bad mentally. Starting to get strong Simmons vibes. Not as bad, because Marco might yet make a reasonable CB2, but similar lack of vision and mental processing that Simmons has. He's always half a second slow to react and half a second is a lifetime.

Really disappointed in his recognition too. I'm watching on Sunday and I'm shouting at the TV that the ball is going to Chase on a 4 yard curl, and it does, and Marco is just oblivious.

All he seems capable of doing is standing 8 yards off his man and tackling him when he's received the ball. He completely gets dictated to in coverage and basically just follows his man around 2 yards behind like an Asian wife.

I was a Marco stan but I'm done with him.

Done with him after 5 games?

Is it a scheme change that is impacting his performance?

He's not improving. Might even be getting worse. And these are good coaches there are making obvious improvements in other players. And it's year 3. In year 3 you should be over the mental processing hump, not regressing.

Maybe he just sucks at zone? But every defense plays more zone so that's going to be an issue for him.

We were bad at corner, and let our best corner go. Our replacements were all barely NFL players. One of many holes unaddressed that will have to be looked at sometime. We have two good safeties and 0 good corners. Not good!

This situation could be resolved by signing more off-ball linebackers to one-year, $1 million contracts.

The smoke/mirrors/bandaid strategy was looking shockingly successful early. Unfortunately last week was a reminder that this is a talent league, and we're deficient compared to many other teams.

Was it? Washington, NYG, and Dallas offenses all look pretty mid right now.

Considering we were supposed to be a full 2 games worse than any other NFL team based on Vegas odds, I was shocked at how competitive we were in the first 4 games. I even thought we'd have a chance against the Bengals - that was obviously wrong.

At 1-4 we really need to start giving the young guys lots of reps.

Sorry, but we actually were competitive against the Bengals. We were down 24-20 in the 4th quarter & failed miserably on a 4th & 1.5 on the Bengals 20.

That game was totally different from the rest of the season. We were outclassed for the first time.

Absolutely true. Burrow was healthier than we expected & we could have triple teamed Chase & it wouldn’t have mattered. Without Conner, Thompson, and Budda, and let’s not forget Murray, we had zero chance. 2023 is what it is. We need to max out the 2024 draft & we’ll be just fine.

It is not a rag, I am just tired of watching a backup QB. And to be fair, I don't care much to watch some starters in the NFL. Good football is mostly determined by good QB play. I don't miss the 3 yards and a cloud of dust football days.
Really curious to find out if we're just Browns 2.0 on offense or if Petzing has more up his sleeve with Kyler.

You're honestly going to argue that Byron Murphy is the same as two never beens, and your "evidence" is PFF? C'mon.

Hes giving up a 72% completion. He gave up 180 yards a few weeks ago. He'd be giving up more if it wasn't for the even worse corners on the Vikings roster.

The pining for Byron Murphy isn't aging well.
