Pretty straightforward week on offense.

No OL rotation.

Mostly 11 personnel.

McBride playing 82% of snaps is nice to see with Ertz out.

Demercado gets the lion's share of RB snaps.

On defense.

Wilson and Hamilton dominate starting CB snaps.

Garrett Williams 1st CB off the bench. Jumped Starling Thomas.

Less three S packages.

Ledbetter and Collins only defensive front 5 players to get 50%+ snaps.

Ojulari has passed Cam Thomas for EDGE snaps. Only 1 behind Dimukeje.

Stills 2nd in DL snaps.

good patient runner who reads blocks well

not a starter on a playoff team, but a guy who can play in the NFL.

Russ called this out also in the game thread. I think this indicates how his ceiling is fairly low. You want a young RB to come out with some plus physical traits and then refine his game (patience, pass-blocking, reading blocking) as he gets more snaps.

Demercado doesn't seem to have any exceptional physical skills, but his ability to pick up what's blocked consistently and play special teams will keep him on the roster.

He just doesn't have much upside.

likely, but thats ok

if you get a UDFA that can come in if your starter goes down, get you 4 yards a carry and be good in pass pro (and STs) -- thats a win for the roster

Wilson and Hamilton still stealing reps from the rookies. Not a fan of this.

This defensive line is just really, really, remarkably bad.
It was a bad group last year who lost their two best players and replaced them with absolute nobodies, has beens, and never weres.

Basically ignoring D-line was an interesting move for a rebuilding team.

But a great move for a tanking team.

I like what I saw from Stills - his ability to shed blocks. On his sack, I like how he kept his man in front of him for a second, kind of jogging in place until he saw which way Lamar was going. Then the second Lamar broke one way, he shed his man and made the sack. It would be great if he showed Fotu how that works.

The problem is you cannot find two or three probowl like starters in one off season. This will likely come back to bite them
I don't think you need three pro bowl-caliber starters to compete for the playoffs today. Green Bay, the Rams, and probably the Falcons are going to compete for the seventh playoff spot with Minnesota more-or-less out of the picture.

It's fairly easy to get solid DL into your building if you're willing to pay more than 1-year, $1 million. Calais Campbell costs $7 million this year. Fletcher Cox's cap number for this season is $5.7 million.

These aren't building blocks for your franchise, but they are pieces that will deliver you a season or two of above-replacement-level play while you develop players behind and alongside them.

Right now we just have zero hope at IDL.

Agreed. I feel Stills was a good pick and will be a solid rotation guy.

I'm a little surprised at what a zero Zach Pascal has been. Maybe they didn't expect Wilson to be this ready to contribute early, but my guy cannot get on the field.

The style of play has a lot to do with it IMO. No reason to play 4 WR with Dobbs

For me it's more that he can't bring more total juice as an outside/perimeter receiver and Hollywood in the slot.

What has Rondale shown to say Brown-Moore-Wilson is a better option than Pascal-Brown-Wilson?

More options/versatility. Smaller personnel packages. Maybe?

Yup. Trey is the real deal.
That one huge drop yesterday, big mistake and Trey knew it right away. He is the big strong TE and no DB should ever be able to knock the ball out of his hands. That drop cost us the game as much as anything...but you could tell it motivated him to play stronger... a bit later he dragged half the secondary into the end zone.
I'm pretty certain McBride is our Kittle, Kelce,Gronk, Novacek, Bavarro, etc for the next ten years.
Good combination of finesse and toughness
