This is why I can't criticize the run D. Considering Philips had to play 68% of snaps and Allen 78% because we had 3 guys out is tough. Especially when you consider they were on the field so much and had to defend 73 snaps. Under the circumstances they did well. Made plays and held up mostly when they needed to.
Also Antoine Wesley is not good enough to be on any 53. Total Kliff vanity pick.
Both he and Streveler need dumping to the PS and put guys in that can actually contribute on Sunday. Dead weight.
You can't say not to criticize the run D because they were on the field for 73 snaps when the reason they were on the field for 73 snaps was directly because of the run D, in large part. The run D sucked. I pray it gets better, but it sucked. The fourth down stand was good, but we shouldn't have needed it. Not all of this loss is on the D, but they shoulder blame for sure. VJ didn't coach a good game either.
No. We gave them 9 extra plays off turnovers. That's the only place the difference between 73 and 59 comes from.
Last night was a disappointment. I wasn't watching closely enough to tell if he was being doubled, but he was the invisible man.Chandler Jones was a disappointment. Just 1 tackle and most of the time was a liability in run defense

Run defense is the Achilles heel. That's where losing J.J. really stings. This is why I can't criticize the run D. Britcard, man, don't make me freaking get out their drive charts. GB got almost half their yards on the ground. They ran it 34 times. Time of possession was 37:35 to 22:25. They controlled the game with their running attack.
Not saying they didn't. I'm simply saying the defense had 73 plays to defend and Philips and Allen were on the field for a lot of them. Primarily because of the turnovers.
Proud of the Cardinals and especially the effort on defense. Make no mistake the Packers are a top-flight offense. The only disappointment about last night was the sub-par performance of the offensive line and of Josh Jones in particular. And Rondale Moore played like a rookie last night. He'll only improve but a couple of his bone-headed plays really hurt whether or not the tipped interception is his fault.
Those guys on defense left it all on the field. Losing Collins obviously hurt and having the defense on the field so long because of the offense's early ineptness was critical. That goal line stand was epic. This is a Super Bowl-caliber team especially if they stay relatively healthy.
Come back soon Rodney Hudson!
I saw Markus getting handled on a couple of the running plays. He gives total effort always, but sometimes he is just overmatched physically in the run game.Okay, and I agree that's too many. I also agree that getting Lawrence and Peters back will help some.
I also think a little bit of the problem is that both of our OLBs are better against the pass than the run.

The packer had 4 drives between 6:50 and almost 9:00. That was because the D couldn’t stop the run or tackle most the game. It absolutely was a problem.No. We gave them 9 extra plays off turnovers. That's the only place the difference between 73 and 59 comes from.
It didn’t look good. He was out of position on a run play and as he tried to go back another direction he got cut by a blocker from the Packers and fell with all of his weight on his right shoulder and that was it.I missed the first quarter and, intentionally, stayed away from this sight so I could more enjoy the game. I thought a big problem was poor tackling. They were constantly getting several yards after first contact. That killed us, I thought. I thought our special teams made a couple of bad plays. Really hurt us.
As bad as our D looked at times, what killed us were our turn overs giving them very short fields for them to have to go.
I missed the injury(?) to Collins. What happened? Is it severe? I really hope not.
And they were missing their starting left tackle and center. We couldn’t pressure Rodgers for nothing. Collins was hurt. We need pressure from the line. I also noticed he started over Hicks.
