If its true and Edges cap hit is 9.5 million which it appears it is. Along with Clancys 3.5 million hit this year and Browns 1.5 (just a guess) Thats basically 15 million.

We are done as far as FA goes unless we start cutting or restructuring players. That only leaves about 4 million in space left. Considering we like to go into the season with about a 1 to 1.5 million cushion.

Just dissapointing because I dont see us having the money to even bring in guys like Mawae or Runyan etc...... we really need to fix this O-line I dont think 2.5 is much to work with when you include bonuses etc....

Anyways Im still stoked.

we have 28 mill to spend not 19? the new cap gave us an additional 7.5 mill.

I'm confused...I thought with the new CBA that we had almost $30 million to work without subtracting our rookie pool. According to ESPN we had $28.9 million.

The bonus money is prorated over the length of the contract for cap purposes.

And Clancy's contract was for 8 million over 4 if I remember correctly, so if we use the typical Cards model, his cap hit each year would be around 2 mil.

It did but then you had to deduct all of the RFA and EFA tenders and the 4 miilion rookie cap.

How in the WORLD can ANYBODY be DISSAPPOINTED ABOUT ANYTHING!!??

Because as stoked as I am I also know that if this O-line doesnt get overhauled we will still suck in the running game.

Cut Marcel Shipp and there's a $1,425,000 savings. Extend Leonard Davis and there's the potential to save a few million.

I would say we have seen a lot of BS from the Cardinals office this last week and I am certain that playing down our cap space was part of it.

Marcel is gone sadly. He was a warrior for us, but just not much left in the tank.

We don't have a replacement for Griffith yet...the others I completely agree with.

Any rookie we draft could do better than Griffith.

Sooooo....you would feel better if we signed a couple of more linemen and had Arrington as our # 1 back and still had 15m of cap space to spend?

Shane, this is a revelation. This is something that has NEVER happen before. EDGERRIN JAMES my freind.
If you want to still be concerned , I understand......but wait until tomorrow.

Without updating my spreadsheet and just looking at all of the numbers that have come across the wire since I last updated it, I would estimate that we still have 8-10 Mill. more to spend. And that is without any cuts or restructures.

That is still plenty left to still be major players for another major FA and still sign 3-4 other mid tier guys if done right.
