Question. Why do you buy the NFL Sunday Ticket when almost, if not all of the Cardz home games are blacked out, even if you have sunday ticket? All away games are televised live locally, unless...you want to watch the other 15 games or so.

My friend Dave has the answer, if you like to watch more than just the Cardinals games. Check out his TV setup. A 65" in the middle, and 8 smaller TV's, all hooked up with the NFL package. He can watch pretty much every game (unless one is blacked out). But, he's on the East coast and doesn't have to deal with the blackouts.

To make things better, he has a killer leather massage chair he sits in to watch the games.

Lucky bastard, and yes, he's single.

Awesome setup, but you would need one DIRECTV receiver for each of the TVs. That would be 9 receivers and $45 a month just for the extra receivers!!

Do you know how often the Cardinals are on outside of Arizona, e.g. the Midwest?
a: The twelfth of never.

Believe me shelling out $200 is painful.

I live in NJ and have DirecTV. There are no Cardinal games blacked out - I get 16 of 16 regular season Cardinal games and (thanks to NFL Network and, this year so far, FoxSportsAZ) all 4 preseason games.

Without DirecTV, I'd get to see the SF Mexico City game and the Giant game (& maybe luck out with one additional game during the season). That would be about it.

I switched to COX Cable from Directv so I could get an HD DVR and it lasted a week. Cox sucks so bad that I went back to Directv in a matter of a week and now I'm willing to live without HD for a while because after choking down cable I feel like every channel on Directv is HD. And Tivo's interface can't be beat.

I have 5 receivers in my house and only pay for one additional receiver ($5.00 a month). After paying for one, you can have as many as you want at no extra charge.

BTW, you can buy additonal receivers on ebay for next to nothing for standard definition units.

That sir, is incorrect.
I have had DTV since day one, I even called to make sure I'm not getting screwed somehow.

If your getting that, they are messing up (in your favor) on your bill.

There is buzz in TV Land that Murdoch may end DirecTV's relationship with TIVO on or about Year-2007 and bring the DVR/tuning grid mechanism in-house.

I have to assume that, should this happen, we TIVO viewers won't be screwed over, but we'd be well-advised to keep an eye on this development.
