?!?!? That's 14 mil in cap space next year for D Colledge and Stewart Bradley. Most importantly because of the bonus structure of their contract we don't save anything by cutting them since the bonuses would get accelerated to the 2013 cap. To put that into perspective, Jake Long will get 11mil a year on his next contract. Nice work RG.

He restructured his deal this year. I don't know how accurate that site is.

I can't believe Whiz didn't start Bradley over Lenon. Another bonehead move by whiz. Bradley had a great preseason and should have been the starter. But to make it even worse he makes Reggie Walker the backup over Bradley.

:sarcasm:, ftfy. You had to be being sarcastic because nobody could really think that.

He gave Bradley every shot in the world to play last year. They even tried him as a rush DE. The guy stinks. You want a definition of a bum, it's Bradley.

That site was dead on with Colledge. Likely the same with Bradley. His hit is more now after restructuring last year

lol. As much as everybody loves blaming Whiz for everything, Horton controls this defense

Sorry OP, there's no way that's right. All of that information has to be a misprint.

It's just impossible that we're paying someone 1.3 million dollars for every tackle they make.

Just think about how ridiculous that is.

This thread is the best answer to the statement: Graves just does contracts, why not keep him around.

I am going off of how he played this preseason and he was a beast. He was a lot better than Lenon or Walker. Anybody that really watched him play this preseason would have to agree that only D-Wash played better. Knowing the Cards though they will draft Mante Teo and then start Lenon or Walker the next 3 years.

Relax. Yes, $2.5 million is still to much to pay for your fourth-best inside linebacker, but at least it wasn't the $5 million that we were slated to pay for this douchebag.

He's going to be off the roster in 2013. There's no chance he's coming back. He'll be accounting for $3 million in dead money.

In the preseason. Against nobodies. Preseason superstars mean nothing. Ask Preston Parsons and Stoney Case.

Whiz is the DC? Then what does Horton do?

Paris Lenon can't play forever. When Bradley takes over for Lenon(which should of already happened) you'll see an upgrade for the defense, especially for the run defense. He is ready.

You make it sound like Bradley's a youngster, relatively new to the league when he's actually 29. :p

Come on that's a bogus post. You know what he meant. CKW is at the top so many of us say Whisenhunt did something when we know it was probably an assistants job.

For one I'm too lazy to go look up what assistant is responsible for what position and too old to remember the names of the ones I have seen.

No it's not. Horton is the DC and he puts the defense on the field. To blame Whiz for this is weak when there a ton of things to blame him for. For some reason when it come to Horton, he gets the praise for the good and Whiz gets the blame for the bad. Whiz has done a lot of stupid things and will most likely get fired, but be fair and blame the right person, otherwise it looks like hating just to hate.

After pre season I thought it was a given that Badley would be the starter. I was amazed not to see him on the field I like Paris but, Bradley is stronger and quicker.

What a waste!

You completely missed the point. "Whisenhunt" is a catch all for the entire staff. Very few fans are going to write that they can't believe Matt Raich or Ray Horton didn't start Bradley over Lenon.

Now Horton getting all the credit but none of the blame I can agree with that. Saint Horton hasn't gotten near the criticism he deserves for a less than stellar run defense. On the other hand we do see Grimm getting criticism for the offensive line but again Whisenhunt is substituted for Grimm in many posts on that topic.

Question: Does anyone know who has final say in who starts in Arizona? Do the position coaches submit reports to the Coordinators who then decide who starts? Or is it a committee style workup for the starting lineup? Or do the coordinators submit their recommendations to CKW who says grace over them?

K9 do you remember from Next Man Up how the Ravens did it? I can't find my copy right now.

On this team, it's likely that Whis determines the starters on offense, Horton decides on the defensive starters, and Kevin Spencer gets to pick who plays special teams. That's generally the way it goes, unless there's a relationship between the GM and Coach where the GM has influence over who sees the field (this happens in Dallas).

Agree on the Rush Defense. It has been woefully weak at least since mid season IIRC. Why has it? Has Horton been asked about it or commented as to why it has?
