Most importantly because of the bonus structure of their contract we don't save anything by cutting them since the bonuses would get accelerated to the 2013 cap. Sorry OP, there's no way that's right. All of that information has to be a misprint.

It's just impossible that we're paying someone 1.3 million dollars for every tackle they make.

On this team, it's likely that Whis determines the starters on offense, Horton decides on the defensive starters, and Kevin Spencer gets to pick who plays special teams. That's generally the way it goes, unless there's a relationship between the GM and Coach where the GM has influence over who sees the field (this happens in Dallas).

Agree on the Rush Defense. It has been woefully weak at least since mid season IIRC. Why has it? Has Horton been asked about it or commented as to why it has?
