I think this is a bit much. They aren't at all playing their gameplan. The coaches rightfully are playing possum. This is exactly what I wanted to see this week. The players are playing poorly individually and I would llike to see some effort from the guys who are playing and usually ride the pine, but to excoriate the organization like you have is way beyond overkill....

Agree!

pathetic showing by cards. coaching staff and players alike.

Seriously why does anybody care? It sucks that Matt looks bad but this team lost much worse than this to NE last year and we still made the Super Bowl.

This game is meaningless, the only hope was to get out without injury which we hopefully do if DRC's knee isn't serious.

Sure it'd be great to be up 26-0 instead of down but it doesn't matter at all because we play them for real next week.

I'm disappointed Matt looks so bad but this game is a throwaway so the score doesn't concern me at all.

The game while in the standing and seeding is meaningless. But for guys like Matt it means everything. It tells the team whether they should pay his escalator or restructure him? Right now you would have to say outright let him walk.

I dont how this game determines anything about Matt.. Whis didnt know what he was gonna do until the Vikings game was over.. And the play calling is bland.. Half the team just wants to get this over with and get on to next week.. Calling for Matt's head is a bit premature..

Two terrible throws and ints. Only saved on one due to a hold. He blows. You know he got a lot of reps this week too. :bang:

You've never been wrong about a guy the Cards drafted ever I don't guess? Never has there been a guy that the Cards drafted that you thought and said was gonna be great and turned out to be bust and or a guy you said was gonna be a bust and later turned out to be a good player?

Well, up to this point he seems to be playing himself out of a future starting job in Arizona.

I hope it turns around for him and he succeeds here, but it just hasn't shown up. I liked him out of college and thought he was going to be a good pro, but after 4 years I have seen little to support that dream.

With QB play being such an indicator for team success in the NFL, our plans for the first round of the draft might be changing. I was hoping we could upgrade our linebacking core, but with this draft being so deep at 'backer, we might need to take a legit QB in round 1 now.

With this play calling I cant imagine it means much more than getting everyone injury free into next week when the game really counts..

I have been wrong many times. I'm more talking about the guys that continue to throw this guy their unwavering support and say he is NFL starting material.

Regardless of what happens in this game, Leinart will hopefully get a full year under center(if he can stay healthy that long) for the Cardinals before they make a decision on him.

It's certainly rough water right now but this is where most QB's deal with rough water. He's essentially in his 2nd year of starting and this is where many QB's go through their growing pains.

I think all but the most hardcore Matt apologists will steer clear of this thread.

Why is someone called a apologist when they want Matt to play well? Some of you people act like having Leinart do well is a bad thing. With Warner being brittle the Cards could possibly need Leinart for the playoffs.Give him a chance and lets see what happens.:mulli:

Matt has stunk it up. I don't think this makes him a bust, but it doesn't help.

I tend to agree with Howie Long, "nothing good can come from the first half that the Cards played."

Vanilla. Posssum. whatever. I get it. I also completely disagree.

You either play good football, or you play bad football. And they played bad football. Is that an incorrect statement?

Trying to sugarcoat that reality, is bull. Your perogative, but it's still bull.

Also, you are assuming that we will put on a better performance and GB will tank next week. Big damn assumption.

To me the only issue here is if Kurt were to get dinged next week and we had to go to Matt maybe Matt's confidence is shaken? Beyond that it's completely meaningless.

My guess is Whiz and Graves already know what they intend to do with Matt and I highly doubt they were going to pay the escalator, generally speaking escalators are asked for by agents to force a restructure, usually to get MORE money but in this case that obviously won't happen.

If matt were 10-10 for 3 TD's right now it still wouldn't impact the decision because Whiz has seen him everyday at practice for 2 full seasons now, he already has his opinion of Matt.

Leinarts record as a starter is 7 wins 10 losses. Its too early to give up on him IMO.

Really? You seriously feel that way? Well when he gets this magical year someday let me know so I can watch some other team. I don't think he'd last more than 2-3 games as a starter before being pulled for a journeyman free agent QB.

btw Leinart just about got Boldin killed on that last pass. Geez, throw the pick fine, but don't throw the ball high in the middle of the field with a safety looming. Come on man that's just pisspoor.

Yes, I am not sure that this game defines the remainder of Matt's career, but it makes the Cardinals organization have to prepare differently for heading into next season. We can no longer just assume that we have time to draft a project QB and have time to develop him as insurance if Leinart busts out. We instead have to look for a more immediate option to hedge our bets in regards to the future of our QB position.

Which again is another HORRIBLE stat. Oh BTW did you just see how he left Q vulnerable with that HIGH inaccurate pass across the middle?

our offensive line is getting manhandled, and that's our starting line. how can you defend that prep by our coaches, and that piss poor performance by players?

I have been a supporter of Matt for quite some time now but today has made me rethink the support.

The excuses that he hasn't played just don't cut it. I watched the Pitt-Miami game and they had to use all 3 of their QBs because of injury and all of them performed better than Matt today and 2 of them didn't sniff the field all year.

It's no longer an excuse!
