I think I'm happy with what we've done in free agency. No Edge, no Alexander, no Henry. I want to sign Boldin to an extension. I think the corners were overpriced and although we wanted to get Hartwell I think we could be set at linebacker anyways. So this is what I hope for right now...

Rolle at #8 we really need a corner and I think this guy will shine with his big play ability and his big game big team experience.

Arrington with Tampa Bay's #2 that we get for Shelton. He has always looked like a stud to me when I've seen him play, actually as good as Cadilac, Benson or Brown..at least the games I've seen them in.
second #2?
We get an extra third for Clement and extra third for Starks..maybe use two of the three's to move up in the second round again?

So far I don't know players very well but I plan to soon. I would like to get a guard in one of the higher rounds if there are any good ones. BPA seemed to work great for us last yr, if we could do as well as last yr..with an extra #2 and two extra #3's I'd be ecstatic.

What do you guys want?

Scenario:
We sign Hartwell to a 4-year $3.5M/year contract.
We re-sign Hill to a 3-year $2M/year contract
We trade LJ to TB for their 2nd rounder (#36 overall)

#8
RB Cadillac Williams, Auburn
Ronnie Brown is the best RB in the draft, but Cadillac is the best fit for us.

#36
CB Brandon Browner, Oregon St.
We go for the BAP here. Somebody will slide like Dansby did last year. There's a couple of CBs with question marks. Browner or Marlin Jackson from Michigan could very easily slide into the early 2nd. If nobody slides, Bryant McFadden from Florida State could be the choice.

#44
G Elton Brown, Virginia
With the two obvious needs filled with our two first picks we turn attention to the three semi-needs - G, NT & TE. We take the BAP from either one of these three positions. There's no two-gap DT worthy of a high 2nd rounder and TE Alex Smith's blocking isn't good enough to fit Green's scheme. We take G Brown or G Baas here.

#75
CB Antonio Perkins,
This pick fills two needs. Perkins will add depth at the CB position and should compete for the nickel-back role. He's also a great return man and should be the starting PR from day one.

#95
DT Antonio Bryant, Alabama
This huge two-gapper has really improved his stock in his work-outs and moved his way into the middle rounds. Bryant will provide exellent depth behind Russell Davis for a couple of years as he develops into a starter.

Those are pretty good moves but I would go a slightly different route.

Scenario:

Resign Renaldo Hill. This is priority #1 since we have a hole at LCB.

Trade Anthony Clement to Minnesota for Michael Bennett. He has the speed Green is looking for and he drafted him while he was in Minnesota. Had a 1000 yard season two or three years ago.

Trade L.J. Shelton only if you can get a second rounder for him, if not keep him and play him at right tackle and move Ross to guard.

Sign Chris Hovan to league minimum deal and see what he has left.

Draft

Round 1: Antrel Rolle or Adam Jones, to battle w/ Hill or Macklin for starting spot.

Round 2: If trading Shelton goes through, Darryl Blackstock if he's there, if not, then Dave Baas.

Round 2: Ernest Shazor, could eventually replace Griffith.

Round 3: Kevin Everett. Fills a need at tight end. Antonio Perkins, can play offense, defense and special teams with his speed.

Round 4: Ray Willis. Very good at run blocking w/ his size.

Rest of draft offensive line depth.

I want to keep Shelton or Clement.

Shelton seems to be the name on the move. I'm going to want a 2nd round pick but I don't think the Bucs will give us the 36th pick of the draft. Their 3rd round pick would still be pretty decent (#71) That would give us 5 picks in the top 100....8,,44, 71, 75, & 95. I wouldn't be surprised to see us package two of these picks (IF necessary) to grab the running back that we want.

#8- CB -Carlos Rodgers. Premier cb are usually drafted very high. We need a cb that can step in and play right now. Sure we could get a cb in the 2nd round but it would be a guy that needed a little time to adjust to the NFL. We don't have that time, even if we resign Renaldo Hill which I hope we do.
EXCEPTION. If somehow Ronnie Brown or Cadillac Williams falls to us which I just don't see happening.

#44- RB -J.J. Arrington. Either with this pick or by moving up, I think Arrington is the guy Green has his eyes on. It's going to be a real scary draft day until we get a rb. Ciatrick Fason would be a guy I wouldn't mind either. Many draft articles show a couple of these backs flling to the 3rd round. I don't think we can afford to take that chance and ait until then.

#75- OG - Chris Kemoeatau. Might be good enough to step right. Described by many as a half crazed mauler. Sounds like a Denny Green guy to me.

#95- DT - Ronnie Fields. ^'3'' and 320 lbs. Here is oour run stuffing DT we need.

#105?- RB- Darrin Sproles. Denny Green would utilize this little guys talent to the hilt. Punt return, kickoff, return, 3rd down back, and any time he wanted to spread the field. I would love watching Warner hit this little jitterbug on swing and outlet spaces. Give this kid a yard of space with 1 defender in front of him and he will get you 10.
