I know how hard it must be getting back into the mental state of playing freely after a major injury, but am I the only one who felt he made multiple coverage mistakes through out the year... usually hanging Peterson out to dry with the blame (I am not saying HB said it was PP's fault, but more than once people blamed it on PP when HB blew his responsibilities from what I observed)

I don't even think he should've played tbh. Looking for him to be one of the best safeties in the league next year.

He played like a second year guy coming back from a torn ACL.

I feel the same and think he will be a great player, but it is as if he got no shrapnel last year when he was screwing up... maybe my understanding of football is the problem and he played fine but it looked like he had some major brain farts out there lol

Good topic.

Not very dynamic, didn't look very comfortable with that brace on his knee, and was a step and a half slower than his rookie season. I think the injury took a toll on his confidence.

Agree. He will have to conquer that mountain and gain the confidence in his knee to get back to where he was

I think we will see a return to the player his rookie year this year. Takes longer to get over those injuries for some people. And his mentality he might have pushed to play sooner and more hurt than he let on. We won't know for sure til we see him playing this year

Overrated by the fans here and underperformed last year. This year he can up his game and be a big difference maker that we all want to see.

First year he was amazing.

Second year he looked like a young kid coming back from a major knee injury you could tell he wasn't out there playing loose and fast. I look forward to him having a big year I'll be rooting for him

I'm hoping he comes back strong this year. Truth is that he is just so small to do the job he needs to do. Probably will be fragile from here on.

I hope he can comeback they way we saw him a stud. Last year was a tough year from him thought he show some signs here there. From the good TM. Like to see the honey badger walking tall.

Definitely not the player he was his rookie year. Hope he can return to that playmaker.

Looked like a player coming back from injury and looked below average. His knee should be fully heeled and back to normal strength this year so he should be fine.

How come Matthieu gets a pass because he was coming back from injury and Cooper gets roasted by everyone? Double standard much?

Good question.

1-Cooper was out all year and had a full year's rehab.
2-Cooper was a top ten pick in the draft at a position that rarely gets addressed in the first round.
3-The haunting history of other first round OL disappointments.
4-At least TM has proven he can be a factor in NFL games.

Maybe because of the injury he did not have time on the field to acknowledge a familiarity with the defensive schemes, but my gripe was not about him being tentative due to injury or moving slower... he seemed to simply not know what the hell was going on and was completely out of position, a lot of those busted big plays against us usually had HB involved

Agree.

I think everyone needs to exercise patience and realize that injuries play a huge role in slowing, or even regressing, player performance. This goes for Cooper and HB alike.

Big difference in injuries, a broken leg is a scratch compared to having the ACL & MCL shredded in your knee. Cooper had an entire year to recover and didn't put the work in to come back in shape.

HB has shown he can be a big time player in this league and all Cooper has shown is that he is big/fat.

I'm rooting hard for both and still hope Cooper gets over himself and wins a starting job but at this point he is trending a bust.

TM hit the ground running, and before the injury was a legit DROY candidate.

Coop hit the ground, and that was that.

I don't get it either. When I watched tape of Cooper before we drafted him he looked like a second rounder to me. He didn't have a lot of strength to hold up at the point of attack but he had great movement skills for a guard. That why I thought he would be great for Denver's offense. Keim drafted him for a reason so he must be the kind of guard that he wanted. I thought Cooper should have started the last 8 games to shake the rust off and be ready for this year. But it didn't happen.

I dont think everyone was roasting coop.

And TM got back into the lineup last year even while hobbled, Coop didnt. That plays a part.

And when Cooper got extended playing time the Cards had their best rushing games of the season.Who is going to be seen more.................? A offensive lineman blocking or a Defensive back in the open field making a tackle or defelection etc: the most visible gets most props etc;.Badger makes a highlite play and all his other mistakes are glossed over yet Cooper gets blamed for Stanton getting hurt by some fans. Some guys are just picked to be whipping boys while others get pass after pass. Cooper and Niklas can do nothing right in some fans view while Matthieu and Peterson get mostly free rides.:bang:
