In honor of their show tonight at the Hollywood Bowl, I've been listening to a lot of The Who. I was going to make the trip with some friends to see the concert, but unfortunately ended up not being able to make it. Some of my favorite Who songs at the moment:
"Won't Get Fooled Again" (who doesn't like this song?)
"Eminence Front" (perhaps my favorite, even though the rest of the album its on isn't very good)
"My Generation"
"I Can See For Miles"
"You Better You Bet"
Their new song on the radio now isn't bad either, I may have to check out the new album.
Mail day! Amazon.com's marketplace has some unbelievable deals. I managed to find Led Zeppelin Boxed Set 2 for a great price. I now own every studio recorded Zep song... pretty soon I'll get started on the live releases
The first two bands have great lyrics, especially Jars of Clay. Jars has been writing great lyrics for years (Check out the song "Oh My God" off the album Good Monsters for an example). The third band has lyrics that are interesting, even somewhat odd ("Get ready like a hot machete") and are kinda fun.
Pretty much everyone imaginable... Blur, the Kinks, Buddy Holly, Living Colour, the Breeders, Neil Young, Traffic, the Smithereens, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Lovin' Spoonful, Stone Temple Pilots.. etc... I could go on and on.......
Well to be honest, I've been listening a lot to the classical station here in DC. They've been counting down the 104 top peices as voted by the station's audience.
I have fairly strange taste. My most recent addictions:
August House
Blue October
Ben Folds ("******* ain't ****" Sorry mods.) If you have Napster / Rhapsody / etc, listen to this one.
Crash Test Dummies (Ha!)
Agent Sparks
Death Cab for Cutie / Postal Service
Bad Religion
Johnny Cash
Alexi Murdoch
Flyleaf
Michael Andrews (Mad World)
The Shins
Unwritten Law
Weird Al ("White and Nerdy" My life story.)
I have so many more, but this thread would be 50x longer.
