it's a crap city with little to do - about the only two NY sports teams I can stomach are the bills & islanders though - also the engineers in that city are some of the dumbest to yet come around (looking at airport placement and putting an highway that comes off the ground that close to the water - smart)

there are some nice areas and parts - but just like rochester & syracuse it's best to just avoid the whole mess of it

edit - also let me note that I loved my childhood and feel that my sleepy small town was a great place to growup to a point - at about 15 it's time to move on - although I wouldn't change a thing - so I guess I can say that some parts are great to be from, some are still nice to visit, but all in all i'd never have any intention of living there

although I can't be too angry - one of my main driving forces growing up was to get out of upstate NY and that drive has led me to some great places / moments - so it's not all bad
